News Round Up 2016

I think they had these, at least at MK and possibly DHS for Star Wars Weekends, a couple of years ago. I think the Vader popcorn bucket replaced R2D2, so maybe in 2014.
Interesting. Well seeing how popular they are in Japan I figured they'd be just as popular if not more here. One popcorn bucket I would love is the Disneyland 60th Mickey balloon one. I have the tie fighter one from DHS already.

@yulilin3 would know for sure. After searching, it may have been before 2104. I saw some stuff for 2012. They may have continued it for a couple of more years. DS would have really liked that, but we don't usually get popcorn. I can't eat it:(

the 60th isnt anything special. just a bucket shaped like a mickey balloon. It doesn't say anything on it like disneyland 60th. i think it comes in more than one color though. would love to have r2d2 back maybe in launch bay. the tie fighter is huge and takes up lots of space. also I remember vader but the one we have is a drink cup not a popcorn bucket

WDW is getting a animal version of world of color in rivers of light.

I'm going to very very surprised if ROL is as good as World of Color. We just did WoC this week, and though the current show isn't as good as the original show, it still blows all the other nighttime shows away.

I like Wishes a lot, but wouldn't mind a change. I am not s ure that the DLR fireworks are better as some are saying. The current Disneyland Forever show is very good, but mostly because the the projection work. The fireworks for wishes are still better.

Just wanted to mention we just spent a day at LEGOland and another at Sea world, and as comparison, Disney is still head and Shoulders a move these other competition.

No doubt. The only real competition is Universal. But it's been 3+ years for us. And back them we found universal lacking. We did Legoland this past year and it's borderline six flags level. Not even same league.

I would argue that Universal is still not a real competitor. They're definitely moving towards it, but not yet.

I went to universal with my band for the first time. It was fun. I really enjoyed it. It's not Disney. One of my students had only been to universal (actually had annual passes for several years) and had never been to Disney. He was blown away, when we went to universal on our last day, he said, "it just doesn't have the magic."

That being said, I'll go back. I don't remember thinking there was anything I could really justify taking my daughter there for though.

That may be true but the Tokyo parks are basically second to MK when it comes to attendance. You think people would go crazy for FPs at WDW out there, there is a mad rush for FPs where people literally sprint to get them and they are gone within an hour or two. Rope drop is huge out there.

Ha-- it's like they are learning how to "cue" as opposed to "fill in all the available spaces"

Well I didn't say it would be as good as world of color just a "animal version" of it in animal kingdom. I'd love to see world of color in person.

As for Disneyland forever, I believe they can't do a lot of pyro anyways because of being right in the city right?
