News Round Up 2016

Got your slot covered L. Just planned another one for 2 weeks from now because they do deserve the business-almost entirely because of FP+. :thumbsup2

Except you don't, regardless, disney had the potential of having 2 trips, they now only have yours. They lost one, pure and simple.

I'm sure they have plenty of other that one isn't going to make a difference. Now when they start losing 100s that's going to make a difference.

Yeah but there isn't going to be a mass boycott over something like this. Most visitors won't even know it's happening. How would they?

Disney operates on the assumption that for any one person who stops going there are at least two more considering a visit. And historically at least that has been the case. It may change eventually, but not this year.

Don't disagree, I don't think disney is seeing a massive fleeing from the parks due to FP+, but just hate the "you leaving the parks doesn't matter" bit people here throw at others all the time when they have legitimate complaints about changes disney has made. True that its doubtful that there is ( not yet at least, though probably at all) a mass exodus from WDW due to FP+ - however the whole, "if you leave then someone will replace you" thing gets old, and is beside the point really. If the best you can offer is that, well then Disney's 1 - 2 Billion investment in FP+ looks pretty shabby if they are just breaking even on visitors due to it.

Anyway, its beside the point, just don't know why someone can't say they aren't going because "X" without people feeling they need to jump in to defend disney. Disney is going just fine, they don't need your defense.

Question for you. What do you consider news? I post parks blog news, photo updates, construction updates, permits, etc. that's what people seem to want yet you say there is no news. This is Disney not New York people aren't being shot or run over by drunk drivers.

Ahhh...I don't live anywhere near New York - relatively speaking - but I do keep an eye on it.

I appreciate all your efforts...no doubt. I don't really care much for meet and greet news or them adding upsells or extending/discontinuing temporary shows...but that is news for many and it has its place.

I do the "real news" as a tongue in cheek protest...for the benefit of those that post things like "can we stick to the REAL news?!?"

I personally find the protests laughable...it's almost like "I'm a BUSY person...so I can only spend my time on the news section of the DISboards sparingly"

I mean...really? Whirlwind life to lead?

But how does it affect fast pass? That's all that matters...that's all Disney cares about - how much fast pass is used. It has nothing to do with revenue/sales. And good thing too...because I don't really skimp and they would miss the revenue...but luckily it's just about fast pass

Can we please not bring the FP discussion to this thread, thank you. :)

Naughty naughty-no more talking about my invention (ok remote ride reservation distribution suggestion) unless news worthy.

cost over runs have little to do with cuts at WDW. labor xosts are going up significantly throughout the entire resort in the next few months. so in order to contain some of the rising costs, things have to be cut and what is being cut are things that seemingly wont be missed. You can see aurora in Mkso taking her out of epcot isnt so bad. same with winnie the pooh and lady tremaine is somewhat seasonal. again rivers of light will open in the next few months so Ak will need more staffing. all in all this means an increase in staff and as rides like the new soarin movie and toy story mania will mean even more staff.

It's not that I don't like the discussion or that it shouldn't happen. I would just prefer it somewhere else than here.

Who's defending Disney? Look at @rteetz or my posts and you're not seeing blind "defenders of the faith".

I've been critical of the budget cuts and have always said people should vote with their money. But it's important to be realistic too and understand things aren't likely to change any time soon.

This has absolutely nothing to do with FP+ though.
