News Round Up 2016

The Nickelodeon Suites hotel quietly announced yesterday that the Nick theme is going away on April 17th (to a Holiday Inn Suite).

"Effective April 18, 2016, the resort will become the NEW Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark. The resort will continue to be a destination hotel dedicated to imagination, play and exploration for kids and parents alike! The rebranding creates opportunities to bring new features to life, including a newly renovated waterpark, laser maze, 4-D theater lineup and live entertainment in our studio and poolside! We will no longer offer Nickelodeon experiences past April 17, 2016, but will continue to deliver a fun and energetic experience."
Yeah I can't see Nickeloden being that popular anymore. Most of the stuff they do is re-runs or spongebob.

I wonder what will happen with the Nickelodeon Studios Time Capsule that was moved there after they closed down the studios. That was done back when I was young and I really miss that era of Nickelodeon. Kind of sad to see it all go, if I'm being honest.

I drove by that hotel every day for 9 months, and then at least once a week for the next three. That property has been for sale for at least a year - and I'm sure for longer.

Ignoring the Nick theming, it's in a strange spot in relation to other hotels in that there are no other hotels, and it's almost in a residential area. There are a few luxury apartment/communities along the road and nothing else. It's in a great spot for easy park access with one road in and out of property, but there are no amenities nearby. Unless Holiday Inn can really sell this location, I see it being one of those buildings that is perpetually changing owners simply due to poor planning in the beginning

Shouldn't an ABC station have ready access to Pixar fact checking?
Affiliates don't necessarily do. They have the abc name but don't get all the abc goods. Like I think ABC employees are considered Disney employees but affiliated news stations are not.

That's pretty much it. It is a local station to broadcast ABC shows and they are actually able to opt out on those if they wish to. They aren't owned by ABC or Disney so they get no additional information and no one there is employed by ABC.

This was just a local reporter who didn't do their fact checking.

I wonder if they have any plans to address the sudden, significant change in the look of the water between the "springs" and the lake? Maybe it only looks bad from the air? I was thinking some kind of waterfall, but I'm sure it's too late for that.

Water often looks bad in overhead shots. I doubt the transition will be half as jarring in person.

I wonder what's going to happen to the Time Capsule that was moved here and was originally at Nickelodeon Studios in Universal?
