It just occurred to me there's never been a river in any of the seven Star Wars movies. Oceans and Lakes yes, but never a river. How this rumor could possibly come into existence just demonstrates that people will discuss anything Star Wars.

Note to Rian Johnson - time to put a river in Episode 8.

There's always going to be a contingent that hates this - but the Rivers of America takes up a HUGE footprint of the park with very minor attractions. I have no history with the park, but I really think the re-do could really still be a very nice thing. This concept design certainly makes it seem like an improvement to me.

I think it comes down to whether you see the them parks as "art" or a functional commercial space. I get the arguments about the original design for Rivers of America, or why originally there were trees in front of the castle at the Magic Kingdom, but the reality is if you keep that arrangement you can't have as many people in the park.
