News Round Up 2016

We really liked it too. We got the 'new' arepas - I take it previously all the components were separate or something?

here is how it was served when we went back in July. The meat was very flavorful but some of the other items was a bit bland on their own (but combined it was excellent - but it isn't clear that is how you eat it)

Oh boy... That is quite interesting. What do you think it's about?

Guardians is the least far along, so I'm hoping it's that.

Pandora is WAAAAAAAY far along. Years and years. It may not have been the best decision but I can't imagine going back on something that is THAT far along.

Rivers of Light would be the most likely thing he is taking about I think. That is far enough along where it would look like a crazy money sink if they didn't go through with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far Guardians is just the facade?

Maybe he's talking about his marriage?

I'd be curious to know if this sees more foot traffic since it's not always available.
I'm very ready for a replacement, but I'm not ready for Stitch to not have an attraction.
This had over 30 min waits when we were down there this past weekend.

I just have to say that I like the theme of Pandora of "Alpha Centauri Expeditions". It matches the way Africa is "Explore Harambe" and Asia is "Explore Anadapur". I think about 98 % of people entering these parks don't pay a penny's worth of attention to this type of thing - what I call of "high level themeing" of AK, but for those of us that do, it just makes this park an awesome experience.

I know it doesn't fit the theme of "Tomorrow" but kids really love those cars. I think simply changing them to basically golf carts, robs kids of a lot of the fun. If they are going to overhaul it, it has to be big. I think they have to make it truly futuristic, almost Tron-like, maybe even with indoor portions through tunnels. Lots of lights and controls. Maybe there could be a way to make it trackless, without causing too much congestion. Maybe a bumper car style with a course correcting override?

Have you taken a leaf or a Tesla for a test drive? They're far zippier than golf carts. You can use speakers for engine noises.

Electric karts have far more torque than gas counterparts....even without the noise, the thrill will amaze most anyone. There is still noise from the motor as well as tire noise. Anyone who has been to a K1 go kart facility will certainly understand. My career is in racing, and I also race as a hobby, and my son races gas go karts. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, we prefer electric race karts over the gas karts at tomorrowland speedway(but we still enjoy them none the less).
The biggest issue I see is the shear volume, the karts would need a constant power source as opposed to a battery system.
It would certainly need a limiting rail like the current cars, as allowing free range will cause inadvertent crashes and traffic jams. I do think Tron could be a good fit for the theme, though Wreck it Ralph theme could support racers, but I'm not sure that fits tomorrowlands theme.
