News Round Up 2016

Rumor

To add to the tomorrowland rumors I posted recently. Tomorrowland apparently is the big renovation for the 50th. We have already started seeing some of the subtle changes. An expansion is a possibility, and of course the new attraction inside stitch.

Anyone envision an expansion of tomorrowland beyond the railroad tracks in one form or another?

I do hope Stitch finds a new attraction.

I'll restate as before - electric cars would allow Tomorrowland to use the vertical real estate of the Speedway footprint.

Space Mountain is already beyond the tracks. No reason they couldn't deploy a similar solution for additional attractions. There seems to be some serious water in that area though, so I imagine they'd have to figure out what to do with that.

So, still no scheduled events, and only 4 days a week to make a total PT temporary work force able to run this...it seems they are going to do food sales and make the food pretty...I guess that's usually enough to bring the crowds out to spend...although looking at the plates they used to sell it on their own site, I'm not that impressed (yes, I'm a foodie and Food Network fan:)). I think my local grocery baker could have made a better geometric colored cake - it's lopsided, uneven, and not appealing looking - I'd have much preferred a natural color/flavor combination, vs artificial r us...

Well, I hope so. Tomorrowland should be their top priority right now in MK. Having so many big attractions on the other side of the park, I don't even know why the Frontierland expansion rumor existed. There's just too much stuff that has to be done at TL.

I know it doesn't fit the theme of "Tomorrow" but kids really love those cars. I think simply changing them to basically golf carts, robs kids of a lot of the fun. If they are going to overhaul it, it has to be big. I think they have to make it truly futuristic, almost Tron-like, maybe even with indoor portions through tunnels. Lots of lights and controls. Maybe there could be a way to make it trackless, without causing too much congestion. Maybe a bumper car style with a course correcting override?

Oh boy... That is quite interesting. What do you think it's about?

Guardians is the least far along, so I'm hoping it's that.

Pandora is WAAAAAAAY far along. Years and years. It may not have been the best decision but I can't imagine going back on something that is THAT far along.

Rivers of Light would be the most likely thing he is taking about I think. That is far enough along where it would look like a crazy money sink if they didn't go through with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far Guardians is just the facade?

I REALLY hope it isn't Pandora, because I don't think anything can be done about it at this point. I had a dream a week ago that I rode the Banshee ride for the first time. It was basically Soarin' with a video game aspect to it. While I'm not a fan of Avatar I am very excited and hopeful about the land. The ride is what worries me.

ROL seems the most likely. We are looking at 6 months delayed from an ANNOUNCED opening. I think that fits the definition of "full steam ahead, we've come this far."

No way it's about Guardians at Epcot. If it was about Guardians at DCA I would be so happy. I don't think I've ever been more pissed off about a ride closure/overlay. Oh, until they announced they were charging people to ride it as the ToT for one last time. I don't know if we are allowed to say the word I want to say on here in regards to Disney when it comes to that, but.... yeah. You know what I want to do to the high ups who came up with that one.

I can't see it being Pandora. Like you said RoL is most likely.

Battle for metropolis might be better than this by a bit...

I rode BFM as much as I could this summer at SFGA and SFSTL and this thing doesn't even come close.

Why would they waste a trackless system on this?...it doesn't even do anything

We ordered the Arepas, and I confess I don't think we ate it "correctly." Having said that, it was delicious!!! We all really enjoyed the food at Skippers Canteen.

We really liked it too. We got the 'new' arepas - I take it previously all the components were separate or something?

I'm sorry, I missed this. What are the tomorrowland updates that you posted recently?

They are a page or two back. Stitch is supposed to go away. We might see another attraction added to the land. Signage and other things are also already being changed like carousel of progress.
