Scooter suggestions

We may be visiting in October with a family member who can benefit from a scooter. It will be me and my sister and her grandkids. Is there a scooter we can rent that is easy to break down and put in a car trunk or back of a SUV? We will probably be staying in the Disney springs area. Any suggestions as to where to rent from, what kind to rent etc. We are not interested in trying to use the hotel transportation . I prefer to take my own car to the parks. Thanks so much.

My wife has used a scooter numerous times while visiting DisneyWorld. We have used both Gold Mobility and ScooterBug. Both have worked well with good service. The advantage of ScooteringBug is you can arrange drop off and pick up at Disney hotels via bell services (I.e. you don’t have to meet the person for pickup or drop off). I’m not sure if they have similar arrangements with non-Disney hotels. The one thing we liked about Gold Mobility was that we could get a 3 wheeled scooter rather than 4 which was a bit easier to manoeuvre and load / unload. Both companies had scooters that you could breakdown and load in SUV (which we did regularly)

Yes, I rented a 3-wheel Go-Go Sport from Gold Mobility once and it worked fine. They'll no doubt caution you that it doesn't have the battery life of the next level one, but I found that it worked fine for as many hours as I needed it. The only thing I'll mention, since I don't know the ages in your group, is that DH said it was heavier than my Go-Go at home, just the part with the battery. I think that's because the battery from Gold Mobility might be better, last longer. It was OK for DH to lift, but not as easy-he's in his mid-70s.
