News Round Up 2016

That's how I judge my reaction to a cold front warning - Typhoon Lagoon closing means wear a winter jacket, canceled Luau means pull out the gloves, and farmers setting up sprinklers means cancel all outdoor plans unless they include a trip to see the manatees. :-)

I get the first two, but you'll have to explain the last one to me.

Cute and versatile, but definitely a lot larger for those who want to continue to wear on their wrists. I like them though.
This seems like a good idea, especially if they screw on securely. I'm guessing this means you can mix and match colors, which I would love to do. I know people who would prefer an alternative to a band. Right now I forego wearing bracelets when I'm wearing one, although I usually don't mind, options would nice.

LOL, when temperatures go down to 32 degrees the manatees come into our spring fed rivers in herds because the water stays warm there while the ocean gets too cold for them. It's fun to go up to Blue Springs to see them while they are visiting en masse. It's the only reason to hope for cold weather because our (Florida's, not mine personally) fruit crops are in danger at that point.

ETA: Probably you also need to know that strawberry farmers sometimes use water to protect the strawberries from a freeze.

Tried to price out a hotel/package reservation today and received this error message:

"On November 18 and 19, we will be unable to make new Resort hotel reservations online or over the phone. You will still be able to purchase tickets, book dining reservations and make FastPass+ selections. We apologize for any inconvenience while we work to improve your future experience."

Anyone know if they are instituting noticeable changes to the website or prices? If not, that is a ridiculously long scheduled outage for routine maintenance and upgrades.

I thought it was kind of odd, too. They have had a notice up on the website for a little while.

I think it is easy to infer "summer" is between late-May and September. They certainly would prefer to have it opened earlier than later - but there is no way to be sure what date it will be open yet. I am sure if they are saying "summer", that means it is currently on schedule for early in that timeframe. There is no way they want another debacle like Rivers of Light.

Do you think that the big boys were there for a final review of the attractions before they finish the land and open up?

I doubt the rides are operational yet. Certainly they went in a reviewed the land, but I almost guarantee they will be back a few more times before it opens - especially when the rides are in testing phase.

Actually it's been said Cameron and Iger were inside the land checking out the boat ride. Ride testing has already begun too. I would agree that the rides are likely not fully operational yet though.
