News Round Up 2016

Yes, thanks for posting this. I know, I've seen parties happening up there. Now Disney could leverage this space and have a more permanent cash flow. I'm ready to have a martini or two on that balcony. ADRs will be a nightmare.

That was my immediate reaction but the article says that Merchandise didn't want Food and Beverage encroaching on their turf. While I have no way to know if that's true or not, I can totally see that being a thing.

When a company gets so big, internal departments end up competing with each other. Happens where I work all the time, and it blows my mind because at the end of the day we are all trying to achieve the same goal here.

But we all know how that goes...

Plus, after you've had a few drinks you can more easily talk yourself into buying more overpriced souvenirs that you don't really need

During my February trip I saw Max (Goofy's Son) meeting in the Great Movie Ride Courtyard.

I agree the choice is a tad odd, but I'd rather see a character that was in the parks for a "limited time" come back opposed to having a character added to a park that I can meet in another park.

Max is a sub character who appears randomly.

Bolt showed up during the dance parties (along with Sebastian, Robin Hood, Baloo, and probably others I'm forgetting). Of those, Sebastian and Bolt are the only 2 who don't appear elsewhere (Robin Hood is in Fantasmic! and pops up to meet periodically). Sebastian can't do much outside of posing for photos, so Bolt would be the best choice of those.

Not sure if that's the line of thinking that went into adding Bolt, but if they already had individuals trained for him, and they had the costume, it makes sense to at least make him a quick addition

I agree it's probably a matter of having the suit and someone already being trained...and I also agree that they shouldn't add another character that can be met elsewhere...but...still I ask the question...BOLT? haha....I've never seen the movie, and that's saying something cause I've seen them all! 2008 was the year my daughter was born though...so for a good majority of it I was significantly sleep deprived - I'll blame that on my feelings toward Bolt. lol

Perhaps this has been explained before and I missed it, but why can't I see wait times on the MDE app anymore, or can I and I am just not looking at the correct area? TIA

The app was updated. To view wait times, go to the attractions tab (which will default to the map), filter to the part you want (the funnel in the bottom corner), and then view as a list (the button next to the funnel)

You can only view in alphabetical order right now. There is no sort option to view by time like before

(if you have an opinion about the update, be sure to email the developer [on android this is done on the app download page in the play store, at the very bottom] to let them know. That is what is being used to judge to update)

Similar, but not quite. This event is offered on non-EMH days (morning EMH still exists), and is limited to 3 rides in Fantasyland with breakfast included.

AND (this is a BIG difference, imo) it is extremely limited in capacity. Thus far, it has been around 200 or so people. There are rumors they will increase tickets sold to around 400-450. Many fewer people than your typical emh.

Thanks! I see it now, not sure if I had just overlooked it or not.

And it has to be limited because they don't have the space to hold a breakfast for 1000 people.
