OK - silly was kind of harsh. You certainly are allowed to have your opinion, but I am allowed to give a reasonable argument against it. You are basically arguing that all kids shouldn't be able to pretend they're Jedi when they are visiting Star Wars Land. And all I'm saying is - "Why not?" OK - fine if you want to have 1 or 2 things like the sword in the stone, but if your going to have numerous interactive "force" items around the land, what fun is that if no-one can ever get them to work just for the sake of accuracy to a fictional universe?
Oh it's definitely a money grab. And I'd wager that Disney would do the same for SW Land if it fit in with the story and how the force works.
I believe it had to do with one guest being lucky enough to be the first in the shop and would get to wake up Tinkerbell... I assume someone got upset that they weren't the one chosen and now it's gone. I could be wrong, I'm just going off of memory.Okay, this sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it. What was the deal with Tinkerbell?
In all honesty I did mine on Friday at 7 pm for my July trip and had zero issue getting what I wanted when I wanted, same with the other times I've done it.I don't like this. I'd rather stay up then get up early.
I suppose you could counter with potter saying that not everyone is a wizard. Although I do get your point 100%. I just feel like in both cases, you get to live your dream of being a Jedi/wizard by visiting Disney or universalThat was one example... however, the problem with these things is they never work out. They are either so small why bother - Sword in the Stone - or they become such a parent fight that their kid didn't get to do it that it gets changed to let everyone or gets eliminated to avoid the hassle - Tinkerbell.
The bigger issue is in Star Wars - the force is mystical and special. Its not available to the common man, yet the common man lives with it around them. Force users have it, but it coexists with the rest of the universe. It doesn't dominate, nor is it a parlor trick.
The "right" way to include the Force in Star Wars land would be to have events where something happened and someone is being chased or in trouble or there's a problem. Then a robed person steps out of the crowd, uses the force to save the person in trouble, then fades back into the crowd. That way you can keep the Force in the land, while avoiding the "I wanna do it" crying and demystifying it by making it available to whoever.
If they try and "copy" Harry Potter they will have missed the point. They are two very different things.
With all that said, they aren't building Star Wars land for the fan boys or to be accurate - they are building it for the masses. And if they call it the Star Wars Experience people will want to "experience" Star Wars which means the Force. The problem is, thats not what it should be and its not really understanding what the Force is. But... again... neither here nor there. They are after the masses who don't know.

That's just one mans experience obviously, but I don't see the fuss of having to stay up late or get up early. But hey that's just me
On an aside I don't post here nearly as much as I should but love this thread. I read up on it at least a few times a week to keep up to date on things. Thank you @rteez and everyone else, this thread is the bomb

They work just fine for Phineas and Ferb in Epcot and Pirate Adventure in MK.
And how doesn't it fit into Star Wars? The force is an energy field created by all living things, it surrounds us...
Supposedly they sell over 10 million lightsabers every year (article is from 2014 http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/st...w-a-lucrative-business-for-disney-1201221818/). I imagine they'll have a bunch for sale just like Harry Potter, and some of the Dark Side light sabers may do some things and perhaps the light side of the force sabers will allow "Jedis" to do other things. Then they can sell both to a kid and make even more dough.
That could be kind of cool. Wonder if they could tie it to "missions" like sorcerers of the kingdom or Agent P

Walt Disney World summer projections are not good. The Awakens Summer promotion didn't help much. The CM blackouts were for the most part dropped and Disney is about to drop the FL resident ticket blackout dates.
They only missed one deadline... If anything this has to do with price increases and the fact that DHS is the way it is.Called it - it's deserved for all the deadline missing this year...

That is probably true but I heard that FL resident pass blackouts should be lifted as well which would mean its more because of attendance. It's a small point, but the cast blockouts have been drastically reduced from last year overall - not just for summer. While it might be semi-related to attendance projections (the other certainly seem to be), I think it might be more of a result of how cast reacted to the sheet number of blockouts last year
