News Round Up 2016

For the record...

I've been very impressed with the roll out and the first 3 years of fp+...it has exceeded my expectations...

But I never thought that they wouldnt try to adjust it "more to their benefit"...because it currently doesn't do too much for making Money and that's what it was put in for to a large extent.

So now the danger comes...when incessant "tweaking" becomes the path of the accountants and they may make some really crappy moves as far as ease of travel goes...

Definitely something to watch.

I think the tree looks really nice but I do think they have a problem until Avatar opens. What are people supposed to do in the park at night?
I understand that. I think you'll see people come later instead of right at park opening. Then they'll do everything and see RoL then leave. Myself I can fill a whole day at that park so I would still come early and stay later. I also probably would experience EE at night since I've never done that before. The night safaris will also be new. I'm guessing people will ride that during the day and at night for two different experiences.

A lit up tree?

You can't limbo under the bar you've set.

Certainly. Transforming a half day park in to an all day park alone raises its stature. Adding an impressive element to its key feature along with the other night time elements creates a more compelling presence than DHS and possibly Epcot in there present state.

I mean...wasn't that long overdue?

I don't know if you're trying to heap praise on Disneys mismanagement of animal kingdom for a LONG time...but I can't agree if that's the case.

Disagree...I do think they will have some spread out attendance but they need more net gains in the park before they can recenter it.

We'll
See

We'll just always disagree here. AK is my favorite park and these additions are only making it better.

I didnt ask what your favorite park is...you're having the wrong discussion.

Animal Kingdom has underperformed since opening...it was never meant to be the 3rd or 4th lowest attended park and it always has been.

It's not been successful enough with the whole audience...and that can't be disputed.

That's why they're doing these things...because it's lagged. Maybe they'll get there...but again - this is one of these things where personal opinion doesn't matter at all.

Huh? Animal Kingdom has underperformed? I've seen year over year increases. All due respect, AK has done well with the lack of attractions and nighttime hours when compared to DHS and EPCOT. Animal Kingdom is going to be awesome. Can't wait to experience all the new when I visit in about 4 weeks!

I know you didn't. To me though when avatar is finished its a full day park.

Yes Animal Kingdom has underperformed. But look at Epcot and DHS thy aren't doing great either but still are in the top theme parks in the world.

People are too worried about rides. If you want rides go to a amusement park. This is a theme park, it's not meant to be all rides. Animal kingdom has two great shows, animal trails, will have a bunch of nighttime entertainment, dining has been expanded, merchandise has been expanded, etc.

I will say, I think Animal Kingdom is going to need more places to eat and drink. I've seen plenty of new places to grab a beer or mixed drink which I think is good, but I'd like to see another restaurant in the Africa area and perhaps something on the opposite side of the Tree of Life.. perhaps something with a view of the tree and ROL area.. something elevated... That would be an awesome signature dinning event! I wonder if will see some sort of event coming to AK in the fashion of food and garden? I'm not sure what that would be but I could see something coming in after Avatar settles in to keep people coming back? Just a random thought.

Every Disney park has been seeing increases even DHS when numerous things there have been taken away. Epcot, AK, and DHS all need significant additions to be at MK level. AK and DHS are getting those. Epcot well nothing is happening there unfortunately.
