News Round Up 2016

It will...to a point (toddler in tow). That said, it won't be me in the park longer right now, so much as it will change when I'm there. If the point is "longer" then that'll wait until Avatar. I'm not complaining about AK. I know it's gonna be coming up. I like the place. I can't wait to take my 22 month old there this summer.

Makes sense, but I don't think they care if people stay the whole day or not. The point is for you to spend more time in the parks in general and to disperse the crowds amongst multiple parks. The more people that do late-night at DAK, the fewer that will be lining up for 7DMT instead.

Agreed. If somebody stays 16 hours in the summer in any theme park (esp just one) with a 2 yo (or even just 2 adults) more power to them. Any time of the year actually.

I'm not sure I like the idea of the night-time, perpetual dusk, safari. Seems cruel to the animals (those that would have already been there) to keep them out longer. .

IDK about this - The animals aren't being forced to tow the safari vehicles around. There just staying out in the park longer in the evening - eating and chillin'. Do the animals get disrupted by them "fooling" them that the dusk is lasting for several hours - that's for an animal expert to know, not for you or me. I would imagine they are very careful about "cruel". They don't want to have PETA going after them once they've killed all the Orcas at Sea World.

Oh, you know someone will figure this one out. What a cabana in Vegas go for?

Universal has-all of the the Universal Orlando Hotels rent cabanas, they start at $100 a day, I think 4 seasons for example is like $200. GF does 1/2 and full days-$150 and $230.

Larger question, do they bring the animals off of the safari at night now?

I'm sure each animal is different as to how it would impact them, and I'm sure that has been meticulously thought through. But I also do think that is a legit concern, and I think it would be great if Disney shed some light on all of that (if they haven't already, which maybe they have and I just missed it).

I thought they had mentioned that they were rotating animals.

I thought I heard that too, but I haven't heard much more details than just that. I think simply answering questions like that and how it will be done/how it is currently done would go a long way in easing people's tensions.

Disney really doesn't do that. They seem to operate on the principle that the less they say the less people can accuse them of. Though if you ask the CMs in Animal Kingdom they are often quite informative.

From the Disney Parks site:
During your adventure, witness the rarely seen nocturnal habits of the reserve’s many animal residents, including lions, elephants, hippopotamuses and hyena. Spy a careless crocodile slumped upon a rocky plot. Behold spirited zebras galloping silently across a vast plain. Spot a relaxing rhino soaking up a luxurious mud bath. Strategically placed lighting evoking both the setting sun and rising moon—plus side-sweeping headlamps attached to your safari vehicle—ensure you won’t miss a moment. And as always, your friendly safari guide is on hand to share expert knowledge about the animals and their unique nocturnal habits.

Yes but most of the animals mentioned are also present during the day (not sure about the hyenas) so that really doesn't tell us anything about how Disney is handling this.

What we are discussing is if they are rotating animals in and out on different schedules. I imagine this would be the correct thing to do since extending twilight hours could mess up the animals internal clocks. I think I've seen mention of it, but they don't seem to be talking about that sort of stuff.

Phase 1: Raise prices
Phase 2: LED sunsets

Really...this is one of those things that I'll never "come around too"

Just superfluous nonsense

The Tomorrowland terrace noodle bar? I completely agree

Unless you're talking about the firework fastpasses on AstroTurf...then I agree MORE
Neither of those are attractions. Stitch is what I was getting at. The noodle bar is rarely open and the fireworks areas are not in tomorrowland. Also you missed it maybe but those FP areas aren't FP anymore. They have done away with FP for parades and fireworks at MK.
