That makes sense. Assigning a renewal to someone who doesn't have an annual pass would just be a way for the someone to get a discount on a new pass and that is not Disney's intent.

Would not be the first time there was a link to a non working feature on MDE

you can reassign unactivated AP vouchers and tickets. While technically the renewal is unused till you enter the park with it again it is not inactivated. The use start date picks right up day after the other one’s last use date no matter when you use it next. So it always belongs to the same user

I move the vouchers around often

for whatever reason to MDE they look the same so they both get reassign link even though you can’t do it to renewals

I am so excited! We are driving to Disney Springs to get cards and magic bands. I made last minute park reservations at Animal Kingdom (I love all the parks). But, we will have two dogs in the car. We are going to take turns walking into DS for the cards and Animal Kingdom to activate the passes so our one year will start. I am excited to do just this. It has been a while since we have been to WDW. We have been Disney fans for decades.

I am so excited! We are driving to Orlando today for an appointment. My last day at Disney World was April 2019. We were gone from Florida for 2 years. Now we came back in the summer of 2021. I let our APs lapse. We bought Pixie passes in March 2022 (all we could get.) After our appointment, we are going to Disney Springs to get cards and magic bands. I made last minute park reservations at Animal Kingdom (I love all the parks). But, we will have two Labradors in the car with us. So, one has to stay with the car. We are going to take turns walking into Animal Kingdom to activate the passes so our one year will start. We are having trouble finding suitable care for our Labradors so we can have park days. Although they function as service dogs, we won't take them into the WDW crowds. So, we need top care for them. Haven't found it yet -- because of our standards. But, anyway, today is my first glimpse of a Disney park in a very long time and even though I can't stay -- I am very excited to do just this. We have been Disney fans for decades. (Got through the park reservation system online the first time and I have confirmation numbers! Yay!)

I'm sure you're level of excitement will diminish rapidly once he find out all the things that have changed since your last visit. Prices have gone up drastically including that for Genie with just went up this week. You have to plan everything out like a military maneuver and even then a hiccup can cost you a lot of different things! The overall experience has gone downhill drastically and continues to do so.

WDW stopped selling annual passes on November 21, 2021. WDW APs can be renewed up to 30 days after they expire. So, shortly after December 22, 2022, Disney will know approximately how many did not renew.

I bought mine in that window, right when they went on sale, but didn't activate until late October. I could have activated a year later. I just renewed, as one of the earliest possible. So, they won't know much about renewal rates based on a few months.

There are a lot of negative changes with Disney, there might be a lot of people who aren't renewing, which I guess is good news for Bob.

Update: The appointment ran considerably longer than expected. Made it to Disney Springs late afternoon. DH stayed with the car and dogs while I went to Guest Services. CM at GS was excellent. Too late to go to Animal Kingdom. I tried 3 times to cancel the park passes on MDE but it did not work. Another day then. Bob is just going to have to put up with us!

I don't understand.
On site resort stays get to book park reservations for length of stay. Having an AP doesn't change that
You don't have restrictions with on site stays

But you couldn’t get into the parks with your pass if you traveled during a pixie pass block out time. That would encourage many to travel during the remaining dates

We are done waiting unfortunately for new APs. We are DVC members. We are coming for Christmas, Princess weekend for Run Disney (no parks) and won't be back until November '23. We would've gone longer, in the spring and done more parks but it's just too expensive with day tickets. Is what it is

There were a lot, like it was one of the longest surveys I've done for them yet. I think the one that stands out the most was if I felt as though I was a valued member of "the Disney family." But, there were questions about price, whether or not I knew of all the "offerings" that went with it, including the magnets, which then went into questions about magnets and how/if we get them... Lots about park reservations, etc...

Yes! It’s a very odd recession right now. Travel and entertainment are still going strong. How long it will last who know? Covid shifted priorities a lot. I know a lot of people they didn’t go back to their pricey gym memberships and time consuming expensive kids activities and such to prioritize time with family and friends.

I’m so exhausted by Disney’s crazy pricing. If my children weren’t so pro Disney…..

Unless you really can't afford them I would get them. Time spent with family is one of the most important time. Or reevaluate and see if there is something else you want to do for the next year. Its hard because who knows when/if you could buy again when ready to go back.

To be fair pricing is getting crazy and high everywhere. Our zoo just raised their memberships and people are going crazy and complaining and saying they are priced out now and so on on. Same happened in the Dollywood groups with their prices going up and lowest have a few blockout dates.

People keep saying it's only Disney and its not. Doesn't matter the place its gone up and so has the food and merchandise and other offerings there.

Unemployment is still in the 3’s. You’re not going to see attendance fall off when everyone has a job. To be clear, I’m not rooting for unemployment to go up.

I am waiting for the Q4 2022 Earnings Report on November 8, 2022. That is also Election Day, so even though the Q4 will not address elections it will be interesting. Disney prices are up, stock is still down, we are in a recession and attendance still appears to be up. Apparently, as Anna said, unemployment is still down. Still no new annual pass sales. In the Q3 report, Chapek said it was all demand driven. They have tools to turn on a dime for dynamic pricing so the pressure for new pass sales is diminished as they can use other management levers first. New sales of annual passes that increase sales beyond their current cap would not be a flexible management tool. It is more of a long term commitment. Then, the lawsuit will become more active again early next year. So they may just as well pause a little longer to see how that goes. These are interesting times.
