NEWS: Monorail is back October 15th!

I thought nose had stopped after the accident in Orlando. But maybe that was just for WDW.

Before Covid, it was hit-or-miss. It could only be done when it was under certain temperatures, only from the Tomorrowland station, only round-trip, and only if the pilot okays it. My understanding was that even when the pilot was okay with it, they aimed for a 1-on, 1-off kind of schedule; in other words, 1 round trip with passengers in the nose, and the next one without passengers in the nose, then passengers again. So a lot had to line up to get to ride. We've only managed it once, and have been turned down too many times to count. Thinking back, though, it was probably 2017 the last time we had success getting into the nose. We had one day during our 2018 visit when it was too hot, and one day when we were going to be allowed, but we didn't want to wait (they said it would be about a half-hour). We didn't try in 2019 to my recollection.
That’s around the time I remember them stopping it. And yes, it was always hit & miss before that. But I know we were clearly told in Sept 2019 they don't allow it anymore. But it sounds like based on others experience, it was a YMMV situation.

In any case, it does sound like Covid will likely be the end of it anyway.

Anyways , it looks like they stopped allowing in the nose now. I'm happy they are still allowing the tail, so now I can add it to my plan for my January trip :)
Yep, can confirm tail is being loaded again! (of course, subject to change, temperature, etc....) Guests, and YouTube'ers have taken many trips since reopening yesterday.

There's still mixed messaging about official close time each day. Some CM's have said 6pm, others 7pm. Just don't plan on it being a way back to parking or DtD at park closing.

thanks :) I have it in my touring plan for around lunch time, round trip from Tomorrowland. I'm staying away from YouTube videos as now that I know I am returning, I want to see everything in real life :)

We got to ride it on Friday! We had done several rides already, like Space, Pirates, Splash, and the Mark Twain (to dry off from Splash!). Then my son noticed it was open on the app. I wasn't even looking, to be honest. We jammed over there and got on around 11am. It had only run two laps, per the CM. After four and half days in the parks, it was a joy to do an attraction that required just sitting there. Here's a screen shot from some of the video I took.

The monorail had no more than a five minute wait on Tuesday when we were in the park. Very few riding it.
