Today I just found out via the Walt Disney World Underground news service that there are going to be a few changes around EPCOT. Here's the list I have compiled:

1: The Disney Corporation will be installing over-head "net" material over outside eateries so everyone in the park can eat without the danger of a bird lurking nearby to swoop down and take the food from unsuspecting guests.

2: Rumor has it that a new country will be added to the pavilion as an old one will be taken out. Sources say that the country being eyed for removal will be Morocco, and will be replaced with either Spain, Greece, or possibly Saudi Arabia.

3: Ford is eyeing Test Track. Seems as though the company wants to take the spot from GM. They are looking at this as a way to increase sales and regain the number 1 spot of automobiles sold after being defeated by the current number 1, a japanese automobile company. A Ford executive said "The loss of the number one spot, which we have held for many many years, is a bit of a slap in the face. We needed to wake up and see what we can do as far as sponsorship".

3: I seem to have saved the best for last. As i'm sure everyone knows, AT&T pulled the plug on their sponsorship of Spaceship Earth. Inside sources are speaking of another high-tech company to take over the giant globe, with the possibility of it being Dell, Sprint, or IBM. Whoever takes over will also possibly get a chance at "re-doing" the slow-paced ride inside using their company's equipment and also re-building the attraction area after the ride.

I'd hate to see Morocco leave. I only recently have starting enjoying this pavillion. The food is great and it's one of areas that really make you feel like you are in a different country. Maybe they could remove France instead.

What are your sources?

Sounds Interesting Anyway.

I can not tell you my news sources as they are just that; MY news sources. That and they like being private. I'm not being greedy, I just want to be the first to let you all in on the "in" material.

It's too bad they will have to remove a country. They have that huge area in between TT and Mexico (I believe it used to be a restaurant as I have vague memories of eating there once). Too bad that couldn't be used instead.

I've never eaten in Morocco but I do enjoy the looks of that country.

Oh, please. This concept makes no sense. Who will be in charge of removing the birds that stroll in and then become trapped when they try to fly up and out??? Outside eating areas come with that risk no matter where you are. IMO a few signs saying "Beware of hungry birds" would be much cheaper!

Thanks for the great information. I hope some of it's true. I thought most of the outside eating places were shaded, though. How would that work? Surely they would put nets around the little eating stands. I have seen the nets used before, but it's always been over a HUGE area, not a small one.

I wish they didn't have to remove a country to add one. I thought there was talks of just adding one? Isn't Morrocco the only country that is funded by its own country?

As far as Spaceship Earth goes, it is a classic. My husband LOVES that ride. He says it's nice and relaxing. If they would revamp it just to be a little more with the times that would be great. I just hate to see all of these classics leave and replaced with new stuff. It will be interesting to see, though.

Actually, I have lunch by myself, right here on my news desk. And it always comes in a brown bag. One Pastrami on rye, One apple, and One Juice Box :)

Well, I'm getting a kick out of Cleo and Clueless, but I guess I was a little slow catching onto Stan.
