Now I need to buy some non-mom undies...my briefs won't look good with these jeans. :crazy2:

I suggest a thong, but only if you wear it so it sticks out above the top of your jeans. :lmao:

Cindy's Mom, how will I stay warm? OK, I just took a shower and I put my jeans and a Mardi Gras t-shirt on. So far, so good. But what do I put on when I get cold (in my house, I'm talking about)? I'll go broke on my heating bill if I keep it too warm and I'm the type that gets cold easily. Do I need to go get some cute little (not so little LOL) hoodies that my DD wears?

I think I need clothes shopping/wearing 101 for the 40 something woman....do they have that course? :scratchin

I will find some tops for you. Only fun T's are allowed. Not soemthing you'd work out in. :thumbsup2

Non mom jeans! YEA! :cool1: :goodvibes :cool1: party:

Good for you. I have found I like Old Navy Jeans, cheaper then Gap, but good jeans (and they had this magic size six pair that actually fit me perfect. I think it was mirical or mis labled, because I wear 8 in everything else! :lmao: )

I have to admit fleece dosn't look so good, but you can't beat if for layered comfort. I was thinking about getting one of those more fitted ones, because I refuse to wear anything that makes me look pregnant anymore!

Topamax.. When I was working in a out patient mental health clinic we actually had a study going on with psy patients and Tompamax as weight loss to conteract some of the excessive gain patients had been on with other psychotropics. (Topamax is used as a mood stalblizer too in bi polar, different doses.)

I can so relate. I recently lost 20 pounds and was ready for a new look. My girlfriends took me shopping for non-mom jeans - low rise - which led to non-mom underwear for under them. Then we went and bought those camisole type shirts with the little straps. Wow - I feel like a totally different person - but in a good way.

Good for you. I refuse to get old.

Congrats on the non-mo jeans!! I remember the thread well...it was hysterical :rotfl: (true, but hysterical).

We all have been guilty of dressing mom-like at one time or another. The important thing is we LEARN (eventually) that it's not all about comfort all of the time. Sometimes, we gotta look good to feel good, right??? :thumbsup2

Wear a low cut long sleeved shirt and a good push-up bra. :lmao: Your husband will take care of the warmth.

Way to go!!! :thumbsup2 That was just the first step. Now...what kind of shoes are you wearing with the non Mom jeans?

I'm sitting here watching TiVoed Survivor, trying not to laugh at this thread. Thong? Push up bra? I have to worry about my shoes? OMG, maybe I should go back to my mom jeans! :rotfl2: This is a lot of work!

I was at "Heritage Night" at my son's school tonight and I noticed myself looking at the jeans of the other moms.

I'm sure hoping that the Topamax helps me lose weight. The first few days I didn't eat much, but that seems to have worn off. I'm going to up my dose tomorrow, though (was supposed to have done it yesterday, but waited a couple days)--my does is still real low.

I looked at old Navy, but they didn't have many jeans. The outlet did, but Jake wasn't too patient by the time we got to that store and I didn't make it back there when I had my DH with me to watch Jake.

Oh, I thought of you tonight when we had some of the Trader Joes Cilantro Peanut Noodles. :teeth:

YUMMY!!!!!!! I need to go shopping. I had a friend over yesterday and we were going on and on about all our favorite stuff at trader joes!

I know just what you mean about the jeans, where does it end. I must admit I think I look better now then 7 or 8 years ago, I think I just try to dress better and it makes a difference. Where does it stop though? I was complaining about the lengh and people said it was so you could wear heals with them. Heals with Jeans? I think not. I may be only 5 fee talll, but I don't need heals, I need to be comfortable, hence the jeans! :rotfl:

Oh navy seems to come and go with good styles. Sometiems they are great sometimes you think "what where they thinking?" :crazy2:

But it is SO worth it when you get that "appreciative glance" from the younger male stranger at the dentist's office. :thumbsup2

You need a couple of cute fitted blazers to wear over your fitted shirts so you won't get cold. I have a nice blue denim and a pink denim. They can be dressed up or down but are great layering pieces.

I may be pushing 40 put I refuses to dress like the old woman DD thinks I am. :cool1:

Yeah, Miss "going to the bus stop in your pj's". :rotfl2:
Hey now! I voted that I only did it a couple of times and I didn't get out of the van.

OK, you're off the hook, then. When I told my son I was going to bring him to the bus stop, I meant that I was going to walk him there. :rotfl:

And let me tell you, the well dressed women in my neighborhood would be talking about that for weeks!!! :rotfl2:

::yes::
Or at Starbucks, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Mexican restaraunts, Jellyrolls, Target, Grocery Stores...anywhere really. :thumbsup2

How come I get less appreciative glances when I am with my kids? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Or he could be thinking "who is she fooling?" Or what I would be thinking, is get some comfortable shoes (especailly in winter in MI!) :rotfl:

Actually a few months ago when I had just lost about 20 pounds and I bought my new non mom, not pregnant jeans we were at McDonalds this teen there just kept talking and talking to me while I was waiting for my food (DH took the girls to sit down already.) Later my DH said he was trying to flirt with me. I never even considered that. I said it must of been the jeans. I must say my supsptions where he was high and that is why he was so chatty. That might explain the flirting with a 34 year old mother of 2! :lmao:
