"A bride was tossed onto the road by her father and left in a bloodied heap after the horse pulling her wedding carriage became frightened and took off.
Sophie Clarke, an accountant from Worcestershire in Britain's south, was riding with her father Bob when nearby traffic startled the horse, the Daily Mail reports.
The driver leaped off the carriage, leaving a screaming Ms Clarke and her father tearing down the road.
Mr Clarke pushed his daughter out of the carriage before jumping out himself as they approached a sharp bend.
"I landed on the concrete road and my dad landed about 50m away," Ms Clarke was quoted as saying.
"He saved my life — he really is my hero," Ms Clarke was quoted as saying.
"A car driver nearby saw what was going on and tried to stop us by driving in front of the carriage but we just crashed right in to it and carried on going.
"We really thought we were going to die."
Her groom Karl Woods rushed to the scene with a friend after a passerby told them what happened.
"When we got there [Sophie] was lying in the road covered in blood with a paramedic telling her not to move," Mr Woods said.
"I was really upset and angry — I just kept thinking I could have done something."
The pair were rushed to hospital but released the same day with only minor injuries.
Ms Clarke and Mr Woods are planning to get married in January next year at a simple ceremony with family and friends."
Yeesh! So I'm guessing the Disney horses generally stay away from traffic??
Poor girl. I hope she's alright.
My first thoughts would be "Please let me not have damaged the dress!" or "Oh no, I'm going to have scratches in the photos!"
