News and Developments for Future In-Person runDisney Events

My best guess is March 31st - April 3rd based on past years that Easter is later in April. Hopefully we find out all dates tomorrow!
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 If April is those dates I’ll definitely be aiming for that one if not W&D (depending on when sign ups are/how my first half goes perhaps I’ll even do two course challenge!)

The 31st-3rd is spring break for a large portion of the northern Midwest. I absolutely cannot see them hosting a race at during that busy of a weekend. But it’s Disney, so who knows.

I'm assuming it'll be be around 12:30 because I'll be taking the kids to the beach then, and won't be able to be on my phone.

Yesterday and today I'm in non-stop meetings from 8:30 until 5:30 with a prospective vendor so no matter what time they announce it will be a bad time.

Totally agree. However, I think there needs to be Qty limits too. Resellers would gladly purchase a 5k bib to get in. Just trying to think that one through logically. I could be wrong but feels like that is what they’d do.

This is really all they have to do. One of each item per person. You can get one of everything but not multiple quantities of everything. Of course limiting purchases would probably make executives melt like the witch in Wizard of Oz. I do wish they would specifically hold back some merchandise, and the majority of the I Did It stuff, for the finish area. Now a days with phones and watches that can make purchases it isn't hard to buy in the lot after the race.

Eh they have Wine and Dine during Jersey week, and they have had Princess during Feb break, as well as Star Wars during spring break here in the NE.... I wouldn't rule out that weekend just yet

New kid question - the preorder items, will that be at sign up (which I hear is FAST as you can!) or later?

pre-order for princess was available at signup, but you didn't have do buy it at signup. you could go back in to your rundisney account and pre-order later. you do have to pay at the time of the pre-order, not at the expo
Thank you! (love your screen name - it's my job description sometimes!). I figured get in/get out for registration, then go back to shop :)

for princess, the pre-order stuff didn't show up until after you had completed your registration, so there's no chance you could "lose" your bib while you shopped. but if you needed/wanted to spread the costs out......LOL

I’d sort of like an option to where you can opt out of all the shirts for the challenges like they did for virtual. We’d still spend the money on merchandise but the savings would be nice from having 6 similar shirts. Wishful thinking I’m sure as the margin on those shirts is quite good I’m sure. From the virtual pricing, you’re paying about $40 a shirt depending on the package.

The time is 4:07 am.

My 5 ‘o-clock shadow has stretched to a scruff as dark as the bags under my bloodshot eyes. I have been refreshing since 12:01 am; “tomorrow,” as the RunDisney account proclaimed. F5 F5 F5, I press the key incessantly, trying to force an announcement out of my computer like water out of a well.

The time is 10:00 am.

I stifle a yawn at my desk. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are all open, client excel sheets forgotten in the background. F5 F5 F5.…

My breath catches in my throat as a new tweet loads on my work WiFi. The blue box slowly fills the screen.

”DREAM BIG!” the message proudly announces as I start to cry.

Yup. I have a closet full of shirts I’ve never worn. Except the bright colored ones (usually Goofy orange). I use them as a second layer in the winter and the colors help for visibility.
