On the 8/21 Magic we went to the Q&A with the Captain and some other ships officers. One of our fellow cruisers asked about why there were no clocks in the cabins. The chief of hotel operations (sorry I can't recall his name) said that based on guest feedback they will be installing clocks in every cabin over the next few weeks. So I would imagine those of you sailing in late September will have a clock in your cabin.

EXCELLENT. Just wondering, will we be responsible for changing the time forward and back when necessary? Just curious. No big task.

I understand Disney wants you to relax and
not worry about time, but I would like to see
a few more clocks around the ship - especially
in the teen area. Our 16 yr. old son does
not wear a watch and one night was in
serious trouble for not getting in on time -
but was forgiven because there are NO clocks
on board. Would like to see clocks around
all pool areas (when you are waiting for an
activity) or by the elevators. Just our suggestion.

I agree with needing clocks around the ship as well as your stateroom, especially when you have appointments to make (spa, dinner, activities, etc...).

I think it is more relaxing knowing the time rather and planning enough time to get ready and go to the activities than finding out that you have 5 minutes to get ready and you have to head down to the other end of the ship.

I am glad others have complained and that DCL is putting clocks in the rooms.

I found a GREAT watch for a 16 year old! No more "I didn't hear the alarm" excuses!

Harris Communications (they have a web site) sells products for hearing and visually impaired people. They have a watch with a vibrating alarm. It can be set to vibrate or beep, or both. They are waterproof to about 50 feet or so (in other words more than you need for day-to-day and snorkeling.)

DS wears his all the time, bed, swimming, shower, everywhere. And since I got it for him, even when he's been someplace loud he hasn't been late :)

Oh, that's GREAT news. I always forget my travel alarm and miss it when I wake in the middle of the night and want to know what time it is. Thanks for letting us know, Anne! :)

I am glad that they are going to be adding clocks to the rooms. That is one less thing that I will have to pack!!

I don't see it as a drawback. I do recall asking an overabundance of times what the time was...since I no longer wear a watch. But it's nice to know how much time we have left before dinner or the next character visit!...in our room I would always turn to the channel with all the ship's info. I believe that had a clock...but you know how happy that made my 3 year old when she was watching a movie! ugh! so I say hooray for the clocks!

I've always worn a watch. It glows in the dark so I have no trouble seeing the time if I awake in the middle of the night. It has a nice "beep, beep" as an alarm and is sufficient for me because I hate to wake up to a loud, irritating buzz. I'm a very light sleeper. I've always thought it was nice that there were not clocks all around the ship, because I like to relax and not constantly be reminded of the time. HOWEVER, I am GLAD they are installing clocks because now maybe I won't be asked by passing guests every five minutes what the time is! :jester: Smart move, DCL!

Now I can cross off the travel alarm on my packing list. Thanks Anne! I did not realize that there was such a shortage of clocks on the ship so I'm going to make sure watches are added to the list. Thanks for all the valuable info guys!:D

That will be wonderful for people like our table mates. Neither brought a watch with them and they were always late for dinner.
