Newport Bay upgrade help???

Hi we have booked the Newport Bay in March and have just been given a standard room (we booked the offer on disneyland website of 4 nights for 2 or something) after reading reviews I have phoned and tried to book on Admirals floor but they were going to charge me an extra £286!! Can anyone advise me if this is necessary to get a decent room and if we try and do it once we arrive would this be cheaper

It's because the offer you booked on is no longer available. An Admiral's floor room wouldn't be worth that much extra cost. I would ring a few days before you arrive and request a room near to the main lobby with a nice view, you may get lucky and be upgraded to Admiral's Floor.
