Bearing in mind the renovations going on thru the summer in the Newport Bay hotel, would you book the NB or Cheyenne? They are both similar price wise, but no pool, and restaurants closed..... thank you!

Newport Bay and Cheyenne are similar price?? I'm surprised!!! I thought Cheyenne was a 2 star, and Newport Bay a 3 star?

With the refurb I've noticed the NBC coming in cheaper then usual.
Personally its the one I'd pick as the rooms are way bigger and you have a closer walk to the park.

I noticed that too, cheaper than usual. I'd love to stay at NPB in Oct 2015, if I can convince dh lol

I'd go for the Cheyenne, and give the NPBC a skip while the refurbishment is under way. With the swimming pool and both resturants closed I can't see any real reason to stay there at the moment.

Can't wait for the refurbishment to finish, so I can book a stay there, NPBC will fell like a brand new hotel once all the work has finished.

We are booked in NPB from late Sep into the first week of Oct this year, as far as I know the restaurant's are closed until mid july and end of august, the pool and sauna etc are closed until end of Oct, we had a letter from Disney saying about the extended pool closure and that we could use the pools at SL and HNY during our stay and also that they will be giving a €50 voucher to spend in any outlet there. Very happy with that as we were not planning on using the pool anyway and as we have 2 admirals floor rooms then we should be well away from any ongoing refurb work.

unless you are way out in the wings of the NBC - in which case you're quicker walking to your room at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne!
We were right out at the end of one wing of the NBC, past the swimming pool and games room etc, and it was torture as you had what felt like miles to walk still when you came back from the parks and reached reception.

I helped my friend save €€€€€'s recently! She was quoted €2,670 for the Cheyenne October 9th from a travel agent.

I went into Disney site and she got the NPB for €1080! For the same dates. The Cheyenne & SF were both coming in at over €1300.

She doesn't mind any refurbs so is very happy with that price :goodvibes

To answer the op  I have stayed in the Cheyenne twice and love it but if I could get the NPB for the same or less then I'd go there.

Definitely go for Newport Bay, nicer hotel, all under one roof, nearer the parks, even if your room is away from reception you walk in the warm and with lights ( hardly any late at night after Dreams if you all back to Cheyenne) bigger rooms and not such a scrum at breakfast.

We chose NPB for our trip in May half term for the reasons given above. We weren't planning to use the pool and more room is better in our opinion.

We are thinking of a sneaky trip in july and loved the look of NPB - would you still be able to use the pools at sequoia and New york even though it warns you its undegoing a refurb or was that only offered to people who had no idea when they booked ?

Hope that makes sense lol

We had something similar at the Sequoia Lodge in March!!!

I wonder if I could request being in the main building??

At Sequioa. Lodge Montana rooms are located in the main building, I preferred our room in the yellowstone lodge to our room in the main building, nearer the park for walking it and literally a 2 minute undercover walk to the main building.

Deciding between Cheyenne and npb I'd choose npb every time, I love that hotel.

Definitely worth a try. It was our own fault coz we asked for a room on the ground floor!! If we hadn't, it's more than likely we'd have been higher up in the main part. We were IN the main building, just right down the end of one of the wings! I don't know where their lodges are in comparison.....
