Hi, I was hoping you all would have some good advice....We have a Grand Gathering booked for Oct 1-9 and I just found out I am pregnant with #3:earseek:. This was NOT planned!!!! (But, you take your miracles when you get them!! It took us 3 years of trying to get #2!!) Anyway, according to my calculations, I would be 33 weeks, roughly, during this trip. The Dr. has said not to cancel anything yet....She wants to confirm my due date before she okays anything. We cannot go after the new baby comes, so our choices will be to keep the trip the same, or move it up by a couple of weeks. (Canceling is NOT an option....We really want to get in one more time before we go to 3.) What can I expect traveling at this time? The last two times we have gone, I was also pregnant, but that was early on in the pregnancy, so it was really not a big deal...Also, how do you get the seatbelt on the plane to fit around a bigger, prego belly?;) Thanks for all your great advice in advance!!!

If it were me and if it could be done, I would move the trip up a little. I just wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy and the new little one on the way!!

You need to stop going to Disney! LOL!!! If you are pregnant everytime you go..It could be trouble!!
It will be fine! Stay somewhere close to the main park..It might be hot with some swelling and your feet may have to be elevated a lot! Really watch your sodium with the park and packaged foods. (Bathroom frequency might be a pain)
The pools will help you alleviate aches at the end of the day.
Renting a car may be easier for your transportation or even the boats for space and less "bumps". The car may come in handy for cravings!!
Have a great time...What a great way to relax before the big addition!

Congratulations! I have 2 kids 1 boy and 1 girl. Both pregnancys were different. I felt great with my son. I didn't let being pregnant get in the way of anything. Then I got pregnant with my daughter! The whole pregnancy with my daughter was horrible. by 33 weeks, I was ready for her to come out! I felt terrible all the time, and was extremely tired. So the moral to my story :) it depends on how you feel. If it turns out you are more than 33 weeks, then I would rethink the Disney thing. Due dates can be off by as much as 2 weeks. :)

I went at 5 mo pregnant and had a blast. The only difference was that obviously there were some things that I couldn't ride. I was determined not to let my big belly slow me down or change how we normally tour(non-stop, early morning to late night). I did visit just about every bathroom in WDW, but I expected that.

About the airplane seatbelt - you fasten it around your hipbones, below your belly, just like in the car. You shouldn't need a longer belt.

Congratulations!!

you could also ask for a seatbelt extender on the plane

also does your doctor know you are flying - I have heard you should not fly in the third trimester - if you do make sure you walk around the plane a lot to avoid a blood clot - i got one with my first (not from a plane ride) and I ended up having to quit working and basically quit doing anything until she was born -which was fine with #1 - but not with #3!!

I was 27 weeks pregnant with baby #3 when I took my oldest DD (then just shy of 3 1/2) to WDW for the first time because I "knew" we wouldn't go to WDW will all 3 kids til youngest was at least 3. :rotfl: (Now planning 3rd trip back will all 3 kids!) We took it slow and always came back to the room for a mid day rest. She NEVER napped but I did. We went in late October and it was very hot (went in late Oct last year and it was warm not HOT) and I actually lost weight there. Too hot to eat. What I found most challenging were the monorail ramps. I carried this baby very low and walking down those ramps was very difficult for me. A few weeks later I remember thinking I could never be at WDW now-probably about 30 weeks and by 32 weeks I starting having contractions every time I stood up-a few days of bed rest cured that but I know I could not have done WDW at 33 weeks. I should probably say that I was 41 at the time. I think younger moms would have an easier time of it.

Congratulations!

Well I was 32 weeks the trip I took pregnant. I just couldn't imagine waiting 2 years before our next trip and they had the fairytale package come out is why we went then. It was early September so it was still HOT so I think going early October it should at least be a little less brutal. I had a great trip - the airplane seatbelt - as someone else mentioned will go across your hips or "under" your belly. They do have extenders if you need one because of your belly :) I wouldn't discourage the trip at all. I did have trouble sleeping, and I was a little more swollen than I had been, but it was a VERY enjoyable trip and I was having trouble sleeping and starting to swell more anyway. The main difference is I wasn't trying to keep up with or look after other children. I rested a lot, spent time at the water parks, and just took it really slow but I had a TOTAL BLAST!! It was such a great trip. As you know from experience there is still so much you can do while you are pregnant. Of course I would follow your doctor's advice (mine was fine with the trip), make sure you rest and drink plenty of water, and you can still have a great vacation!!

Thanks to everyone for the great advice...DH and I have talked about it, and what we may do, after confering with my OB, is send the kids with Nana and Auntie on the plane, and we can drive down...We can make the pitstops we need to on the way (for potty and walk around breaks) but they will not be as complicated if it's just us.
