Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Does it count if I'm one day over 30 weeks? :rotfl:

I'm totally feeling those moments... probably because school is still out there and work and moving.. I just don't feel like I can possibly get it all done. This week is a wash with all the extra hours at work and my brother being in town. And the worst part is, I need people to clean up the drywall dust so that I CAN get in there and start getting ready to move in but no one's schedules meshes with mine well enough. Stupid drywall dust everywhere.

I just hope it gets cleaned up before April 6. I took that week as vacation at work and was hoping to be hanging pictures on the walls, folding baby clothes into his dresser,... that sort of thing!!

I'm definitely asking my Dr. tomorrow how long she'll let me go because EVERYONE I tell that he measured in the 90th percentile based on weight/size said she probably won't let me go full-term, especially if he doesn't fix himself from being breech. So I'm going to ask her tomorrow and freak out based on what she says!!! :rotfl:

I have an impromtu visit today with my OB. I woke up this morning with a minor ear ache. So I called to see if there is anything I will be able to take.
They want me to come in and have it checked since I will be flying in a couple of days.

Patsy, glad you are not working with the painting.

MMKK & Minniefan4ever, I know what you mean by pressure too. I am 27 weeks and I can't get comfortable at night either. I will see how I do with the walking in WDW.

Eeek... flying with ear issues is never fun.

Wishing you luck and a quick fix (or pregnancy approved drug to lessen it!)

Yeah.. I just started ignoring the painter the more he kept telling me that it wasn't toxic and it was okay for me to breathe.

He doesn't seem to realize it's a bank. There are no windows to open, no ventilation at all. So that is NOT OKAY! :sad2:

Oh don't I know it!!!
UGH!!! Our contractor did the same thing
I told them to cover the area where they're working and they conveniently forgot. I had to call DH home early because I couldn't get out of the bedroom. Everytime I did, my eyes started watering and stuff. EVERYTHING was covered in dust.... :headache:

DH ended up coming home early to help me clean up the place... I was SOOOOOOOOOO mad at my contractor....

So I can definitely relate to you...

Oooohh... so you might be induced early you think? Let us know what your doc says...

Patsy-
I hope everything starts falling into place for you soon! You sound like you have ALOT on your plate including work!!! I don't understand why some people just don't THINK about the fact that you are pregnant and are painting YOUR office! And it sounds like it really didn't need the paint.

I was using one of those giant black permanent markers a couple of weeks ago, you know the ones that make you high! Well, I swear the baby started jumping around a lot right then and I decided to back away from the marker!

We have had some drywall dust here too with the renovations to my master suite going on. I have stayed away from it for the most part but the other night my DH was putting in the light fixture in the walk in closet and had to drill holes in the ceiling and just that little amount of dust made me feel like I had been in a sand storm!

Hi everyone,

Well after waiting an hour past my appointment with one angry DH and tired DS my doctor decided to show up. Apparently having lunch was more important because there was a catered event in the building today! I went to use the bathroom and heard my dr and the nurse talking about what to have for lunch. Then he was gone and the receptionist said he was busy with patients that's why he was running behind. A whole hour behind! Try he was running to the buffet!

Anyway, I passed my glucose test and the baby is measuring perfectly even though I feel like he's so much lower than DS1 was. I gained 5 pounds this month and my bp (despite being totally annoyed) was good.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? I wasn't trying to be rude to the receptionist but DH only gets an hour for lunch so coming back 45 minutes late doesn't sit well with me. What's the point of having appointments if you can't even keep them? His receptionist said he likes to take his time with patients so that's why he was so late.

2 weeks til the next appointment. Maybe I'll show up an hour late and see what they say...

Good morning everyone!!!

Sleep interrupted several times last night for me. I have to constantly roll from side to side to get comfortable. I just keep feeling like I can't get any bigger! My belly feels like it has so much pressure on it. I'm not huge, but I definitely feel huge!

I agree on this one. Every night between 3 and 5 I'm wide awake and just can't get back to sleep. After DH goes to work around 6 I'm sound asleep until DH calls for me. Sleeping with an extra pillow doesn't cut it anymore. I'm thinking of moving a recliner into our room!

How rude! I think if you have an appt. for a certain time, then you should at least be somewhat close to that time when you get to see him! I understand when they run maybe 15-20 behind but you usually can tell that's gonna happen by the amount of people in the waiting room. Did he "take his time" when he got to you?

Yes, he always does a nice job. Thank goodness! Answers q's and asks things about how "we're" feeling and how DS1 is doing (he delivered him). There are 6 doctors total so we single out the few that take their time. I really don't want to switch groups this late in the game but everytime we go there is a delay. Even on days where the waiting room is empty. I made a small scene in the lobby where the 12 appointment was still waiting at 1245.

I told the nurse exactly what you said, 15-20 minutes I'm not saying much. But after an hour and see him strolling in with a Diet Coke in hand was it for me.

Had my appt today. All is good w/the baby 5 weeks from today is my cseciton!!:cool1::cool1:

I'm measuring about 3 weeks ahead of schedule, but that's to bed expected. I don't get on here to much anymore, but I'll keep trying to check in.

Welcome to all the new moms to be and congrats to those who are having babies!!

Ugh, that would just make me mad!

I didn't ask them to cover anything (the whole house at the time was just COVERED in drywall dust!) but was pretty perturbed when I went over one day and they'd hung my brand new egyptian cotton sheet by nail to block the entrance to the kitchen from getting drywall dust in it. :sad2:

My mom, thank goodness, went over and cleaned the entire upstairs up before the carpet got put in (every room upstairs had some form of drywall replaced except for the actual hallway!) but now the downstairs is COVERED! :headache:

And yea, it's possible. She mentioned that they're going to do another ultrasound in April to check his position. She also said I might want to read my book (they gave me a pregnancy book) about breech but not to concern myself too much because he may flip.

Danny's Mom mentioned I would know when he flipped so I'm thinking he hasn't.

Anyway-- book says that in most cases ******l deliveries are not done on breech babies over 8lbs. He was 2lbs10ounces three weeks ago so I KNOW he'll top out 8 if I go full-term. Just another reason I want to ask her but know that the ultrasound could change everything!

We had an entire laundry room built downstairs and upstairs ALL the rooms got at least one wall replaced. It's a MESS! :scared1: Glad you guys can relate, though. It's insane how much it makes me sneeze, etc.

And yes... they called yesterday to tell us they were coming and we told them it wouldn't work but our manager wasn't there at the time and never bothered to call them to straighten it out. She was out of town at a meeting today and so when the painters showed up we told them they had to start in the breakroom because I couldn't be around it.
The painter kept telling me it was okay for me to breathe. Seriously. Like 15 times kept telling me it was OK. We told him to just stay in the breakroom, he could paint our workstations after the other girl came in and I could leave.
I called my Dr. and the painter still kept saying it was OK for me to breathe.
He didn't wait for me to go, either. I was SO mad. He couldn't wait the 15 minutes it took me to get out the door?? :confused3:mad:

I'm over it but still irritated that the guy who was there to paint OUR workstations is trying to tell me to disreguard my Dr's orders. Either way, it's my choice whether I want to be around paint fumes or not and I DON'T!

I don't blame you a bit. I had an appointment at 10 once (through I'd sleep in a bit before work the appt. and heading to work) and it was 1.5 hours before I even got back there! Of course that was the day they did extra fetal monitoring because of my lack of movement and were complaining because I was there with the monitor on me through part of their lunch.
Uh. Then maybe I shouldn't have sat in the lobby for an hour and a half?

Now I ONLY make 8-8:15-8:30 appointments. I want to be one of the first people seen!
I don't have to be at work until 11 tomorrow but I'm going to the OB at 8:15! I'm not wasting my time in the waiting room again! The only excuse, to me, is if she is delivering a baby!

Hi everyone! Trying to catch up on what I missed.

Today I woke up bleeding so went to my doctor, he was off so I got sent to the other doctor in the practise who works across town. Finally I was seen and she said everything was fine ????!! There was no explanation for the bleeding except that I have a terrible cold and the coughing may have caused a little bit of spotting. Anyways, I have been staying in bed just in case and tomorrow I have an ultra sound just to make sure everything is fine in there but she told me there is no reason to worry. I am hoping that maybe we can get a peek of the goods! This baby likes to scare his/her mommy!

This is going to be a LONG 24 more weeks.

DH is out getting me donuts!!

Had my appt today too... after a 'false labor' trip to hospital last night...Ugh. I knew it wasn't the 'real deal contractions' but DBF was really adament I went, then the dr on call said I should just go in if I didn't want to miss a chance at the epidural. :scared1: Nooo..I want THAT!! LOL
Anyways...still dialated between 1-2. Dr said he'd strip my membranes if I was still 'with child' next Thursday, but they won't induce until 41.5 weeks.
I hope she gets here sooon!!

DH is out getting me donuts!!

I had this around Christmas. My Dr. told me sneezing, coughing, or straining the wrong way can cause a blood vessel in the cervic to let go. Try not to stress today, I hope the ultrasound gives you a bit of emotional relief.

What a DH donuts help relieve stress too!

Quick update on Dr. visit. He said my ear looked fine. I could be just sleeping on it wrong, since that is usually the side I sleep on. I am still getting a cracking in my ear occasionally but it could be I wrenched my jaw or something sleeping. Good news at least I do not have to worry about flying with an earache.

He did do my baby exam while I was there too. My BP was 120/73 and since getting pregnant I have gained 3 lbs. I am now 27 weeks and just began my 7th month. The baby's heartbeat was 135 which was her lowest yet but she could have been resting. They also confirmed I passed my diabetic screen. So all was well...two more days till I am waddling aroung WDW.

Now to read to rest of the thread and catch up.

So you have only gained 3 total lbs.!!! I am sooooo jealous! I average 4 lbs each month. Last month I gained 6 1/2 lbs. which I thought was odd because that was over the time I was working at the consignment sale and I was eating better than I do when I am just at home.

I'm glad your ear is fine. Nothing like flying with an earache! Ouch!

I had to take DH to the airport this morning at 4:00 am! :scared1: DD and I stopped back by McDonalds to get a small bite to eat so we could go back to bed on full stomachs. If I get too hungry I still get sick to my stomach. "Carlos" (which is the name my daughter has chosen for the baby, and we aren't even Spanish! But we aren't keeping the name!) gets mean when I don't feed him! ;)
More on the "Carlos" name. Its not that I don't "like" it but my next door neighbor is Spanish and my DH says that if we named him with a Spanish sounding name then the rumors would be flying when he was born! :lmao: So we've told Madeline that she can call him Carlos while in mommy's tummy but that he is going to have a different name when he comes out! Our friends and family are getting a kick out of it!

Carlos? thats too funny! :rotfl:

I get to schedule my next ultrasound for my birthday! What a great present. :lovestruc
I got a few scenarios from my Dr....
If he flips on his own but remains growing in the 90th percentile (I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead still) she'll induce at 39 weeks.
If he flips on his own but cuts his growing back a bit and is in the 7-8-low 9lbs range, she'll let me go max of 41 weeks.
If he doesn't flip and/or continues to grow like a weed we'll be talking C-Section.

So glad that I still have no idea what is going on! Haha. Babies definitely lilke to have their little uncertain hold on us, don't they?? Dr. said we'll have a better idea after the April US as to whether or not he's going to keep packing on the lbs.

Disney Ron- Glad you got things cleared up. Are you packed yet? You must be getting so excited!! :)

That will be a cool gift for your birthday!

At least you have a few weeks for him to turn around on his own. I know you would much rather have him naturally.
