Resort Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Tick tick tick…..waiting….

sorry, got home super late last night and (like an idiot) am having a big HVAC overhaul today. We’re at 9.5 hrs and counting, and we live in a California bungalow (adorable but tiny - so people everywhere all day), I want this day overrrrrrrr. So will post in the hopes they’ll be done when I am! Pardon typos…

Gf rpc Monday breakfast (the only breakfast I have, I think):

Gf rpc snacks - there were sandwiches and soup every day but no pics, egg salad/cucumber sandwiches, and I saw corn bisque twice, but it seemed like if you weren’t there early enough, like lunch, the soup would be gone. Also house made chips (selection of 3), crudite and dressings/hummus, sometimes homemade whoopie pies. Eta -And at least one heavy pasta salad daily!

Wed apps - these are the same as Sunday night. The pasta was yummy, I decided. Pot pies still salty, but not intolerably so. (Note that the veggie selection was there nightly - I just get embarassed taking pictures!)

Gf rpc summary - a wonderful stay. The CMs were largely wonderful, a few were good and very nice but just lacked that CL warmth, if you catch my drift. It’s always fun, but this was one of my more enjoyable stays.

ETA - yes, the hvac guys are still here. I’m torn between exhaustion/jetlag, annoyance (hangry-ness), and pity because there is no way he quoted me enough for all they’re doing!

Dh has decided to stay home and get some work done on our house. The kids, dogs and baby coming up for Memorial Weekend for the week. We converted a porch to a den last year but the contractor still isn’t finished. He found someone with deeper pockets……. Anyways gonna try to get some stuff done while I’m away. Yep dh is always more productive when I am not home. So I am poly cl 2 nights and gf cl 1 night. I’ll get you pix!

A response to my own post, not a fan of the Poly Club Level or my gross room. I should have listened to those with a consistent experience with no one tending to their children. Not a good time when kids are really behaving badly and no one seems to care.
Due to some issues with our room, we are transferring to the GF for the remainder of our stay. Poly is just not for us

I’m so sorry. Poly CL was a one and done for me, which is a shame because the resort holds a place in my heart. Hope the rest of your stay in wonderful.

OT - HVAC guys were here for 10.5 hours yesterday - but everything works so great now! I replaced the roof and put in solar at the end of last year, but we noticed that our ac (a big unit installed a few yrs ago) wasn’t cooling at all - turned out refrigerant was leaking from the coil, which was old as the hills. And we knew the furnace was due for replacement. And we knew the ductwork was poorly routed and inefficient. So we had them come in and replace everything, and install a new, more efficient return. My poor, limping home improvement account - good thing I overbudget for disasters. It’s been an expensive few months, but that will rapidly fade in my memory when I’m blasting ac at 69 degrees all summer!!! Electricity here is run by a privately owned company, so I look forward to sticking it to them the way they do to everyone else …

Poly CL was a one and done for me as well. This was years ago but it doesn't sound like it's improved at all.

Ugh, @Branflakes , I am so sorry that it is so bad that you have to switch. But I'm glad that you took action and are moving instead of trying to stick it out over there. I think you'll have a much better experience at GF.

@2vets loved your pictures! Sorry about the neverending day of HVAC. I despise having anyone over here to do work because one of my dogs has to be put away and I feel like no matter what we ever have done, these people end up being here for freaking ever.

And they had to come back on SATURDAY! But now we're rockin' and rollin'.

And I just snagged the king CL room at CR for my August sisters trip on BB (whoot, twice in one year!), still holding GF RPC just in case but will likely transfer the $ to the current room. I love GF but there's always the concern my sister will try to crash in my room, which drops precipitously now - in addition to saving me a ton of cash. Love my sister, but I wanted to murder her last August -- when we shared a suite! Also prefer CR in August in general due to closer proximity to MK in ridiculous weather.

This made my mind wander to a interesting Disney factoid, and yes it is all your fault.

The CR Tower Club is actually on the 13th floor of the Tower, and the Story line for HS Tower of Terror attraction has the elevators rise to the 13th floor... well you know the rest of that story.

Yes it is true, there is a 13th floor at the CR. The first two digits of the room numbers in the CR Tower indicate the floor, and the Tower Club room numbers start with 49xx (4+9 = 13). For obvious reasons the CR does not use the 13 in the Elevators or in another references.

How funny. I dropped a CR king CL in October when I found a king RPC in September. I had already found a CR king for our trip this month, so gave up 2 CR for 1 stay at each. Truthfully, I wasn’t impressed with the offerings at CR this time anyway.
