Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Skylarr, I like the name Josiah. DH's Step-dad and moms last name is Mason, and they have a neice named Mason. I like the name too... I just couldn't use it.

I have a question girls....

When taking bump photos (which I did today), do you suck it in, or let it all hang out. I know once you get further along things look different and you can't suck much in... but im 13weeks (almost 14) and when I suck in, verses letting it all hang out, I swear I look so different. When im relaxed (and if I wear maternity clothes which are more comfortable)... I look REALLY pregnant. If I suck in and get myself all tucked in to normal clothes, I can still look bloated and weird. LOL. Its hard to explain. I guess because my weight is still pretty low it can appear differently. I took photos both way, but it looks crazy when Im not sucking in and im relaxed... its like I could stick a whole kid in there. Bare in mind sucking in doesnt make me look like a skinny mini either!! Thanks in Advance (gosh im rambling a lot)...:thumbsup2

So I had my appointment today (2 days post due date), and I am not dilated AT ALL!!!

What is up with that?
Apparently, my little girl is nice and cozy in there.

They scheduled me for an ultrasound and non stress test next Wednesday. Hopefully she will make her presence by then.

I left it all hanging out in my belly shots.

I figure thats what I look like to everyone else, I'm not walking around sucking it in, so thats the look I wanna remember!

So, question. Seems like a lot of you guys are finding out a lot further back what you're having. So for those of us that know, how many weeks were you when you found out if it was a boy or girl?

I was 18 weeks.

I read your post about the little boy name, so I assume you've got your girl name ironed out?

Hopefully she'll make her grand entrance soon! I'm guessing Sunday night you go into labor. :)

I have my U/S date already, 4/20. I'll be 20 weeks 2 days.

Unless we decide to do an amnio. The we would find out when the amnio results came back. We are (or rather I am) undecided if I want to do the amnio. DH would have me do it, but it's not his belly that gets the needles stuck into it. NT scan results came back with a slightly elevated risk --1 in 88 -- but it's statistically not significantly different than the risk based on my age alone, which is 1 in 94 -- so I'm sort of taking it as a null result, it didn't give me any more info than I had before the test. So the decision amnio or not is entirely up to us. Any thoughts or opinions from the peanut gallery?.

Just decided to open up this thread and go straight to the last page...LOL.. THe reply count has scared me away before now!!

Anyways...for the one who is post-due-date and not dialated yet!! I"m so sorry!!!
I'm dialated to 'almost' 2, and not due til April 3rd...but I'm soo hoping she comes in the next few days...I"m miserable!!!!!!

I haven't seen your posts prior to this...but just my 2cents on amnio... I was always against them before, until I was faced with something being wrong with this pregnancy. We chickend out of the CVS while in the dr office, but I did end up getting the amnio. We got to watch the screen (I didn't watch, DBF did) to see how far she was away from baby into the amniotic fluid. It was only slightly uncomfortable, a little burning, and after that, just a little tender. I'm really glad I did it.....

I found out the baby's sex at 19 wks.

I didn't have any testing done. The 3 sonograms look good, and my dr. didn't really push it. Dh agreed that it wasn't worth the risk for us-everyone has to make their own decision though. I'm 36 and he's 37.

I was so glad to see this week end! We have spring break next week, so maybe we can all get well over the next 9 days!

raysnkaysmom, I lurked on your chromosome thread, and I know you had some scary moments! I'm hoping your little one arrives in the next few weeks and is perfect!:goodvibes

Yeah...DBF and I were just talking the other night... there is still the possibility that there is some (minor) defect, and it's like we've totally moved beyond that. I guess because the amnio came back negative for downs, turner etc.. then from what they could see, no heart defects, and no cleft lip... I think anything else is minor (although we had become ok with any of it), I think it'll just take us by surprise if there is something wrong.... Can't ever take any of the journey for granted!! I'm just ready for her to be out and the waiting over :goodvibes

Sort of lol. We always thought we would have trouble with the girl names but we have a few that we really like. I think I just had a set idea that if it was a boy I wanted Mason and now nothing else will do. We had a boys name picked out (Dorian) and then when we looked it up it is now a unisex name and a few people told us it was really ghetto. We aren't telling people the name once we pick it because people don't think before they say mean things about the name you worked so hard to pick.

DH loves Lucas!

I went to church with a kid named Doran and he was so cute!

I thought it was such a cute name and 3 family members told us it was really ghetto. Then we found out there are a few athletes named that etc. Now I don't know whether to go with it or if they are right.

I like Dorian, too!

Thanks. I love the name Lucas. :lovestruc
It's growing on me even more everyday... maybe because Lucas is growing in me. :rotfl:

I like Mason, too. But Josiah makes me think of the Jonas brothers. :confused3

Boys names were a huge challenge for us each time we were pregnant. With DS we finally agreed on Luke James after many discussions, which I love. So I have to say I like Lucas as well!

With this pregnancy we could only agree on the name Cole. We were having such a hard time even arriving at a middle name. Thank goodness we are having a girl becuase both of us have loved Emma Sophie since we got married so that was never a dispute.:rotfl:

With boys names I always liked Jack, Ben, Sam, and Mason. DH never liked any of those. DH like Dylan, which I did not like at all with our last name. My DH always had a one liner to respond to each name I picked...he would always say nice so they can make fun of him in the playground saying....

Good luck Melissa finding that perfect name!

I'm starting to feel the girl pressure. Everyone around me on the list is having girls! lol I still have to wait 2 weeks to find out. :(

I'd had my boy name picked out for years, even though I thought I was through with having kids. And we were convinced this baby was a boy until the day of the sonogram. We called the baby Noah all along. That is how I told dh I was pregnant-I'd only been off the pill for 6 wks, but I just knew I was pregnant (even though I didn't tell dh). I had bought a pregnancy test the weekend before, and on the day I was supposed to start I took it. I woke dh up and told him that "Noah is on his way."

We talked about girl names, but really didn't agree until we found out that Katie was on her way instead!

I'll have to say, sometimes I still have my doubts. And dh mentioned it the other day as well. This pregnancy is still so much like ds11's. Other than no carpal tunnel this time thank goodness. I was up from 3 until 4:30 this morning-woke up puking, then couldn't go back to sleep, so I got online and surfed the dis:scared1: . With ds11, I puked until the night before he was born. I got pregnant 6 wks into getting off the pill. With dd9, I got pregnant the ONE time we tried, was sick, but not nearly as sick as these other 2 pregnancies. Most of the time, I'm sure there is a little princess in there, but sometimes, my mind wonders to what if......
