Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

i dont know about the huggie thing - seems odd to me too! but the only friends who swear by huggies are boys moms...
the only prenatals that work for me are the ones from the health food store - the natures plus ultra prenatal

this link doesnt seem to work, but i just googled ultra prenatal and it popped up. OMIGOSH. am i ever going to order some online next time!! i pay a lot more locally!!! why didnt i think to look online before?

anyway - i tried several rx and was really sick, 2 or three OTC kinds before i found these. they are big AND you take two, i take them right before bed ...but they do not make me sick. and let me tell you, EVERY vitamin my ENTIRE life has made me sick except these. worth keeping in mind, especially if you plan to nurse b/c you will need to take prenatals that whole time too!

Huggies have always worked well for us, and we have boys. I'm not sure why they would be better for boys than girls.

How are little Collin and your wife doing?

Everyone is doing very well. Collin had an eye infection that has since cleared up. He now has what looks to be a pretty bad diaper rash. So to prevent the same thing for other first time parents, use the Butt Paste or rash cream from the start!! Don't wait for a rash to appear. We learned the hard way.

Now, if we could only reverse his preference for sleeping all day and staying up all night. :upsidedow

She keeps saying that she has never in 15 years of my relationship with her son seen the actual shelf of our refridgerator b/c I ALWAYS have so much food on hand ... I LOVE to grocery shop.

Does anyone else love grocery shopping? I even shop sometimes for my friend (the one who has my kids right now). I take her debit card and list, as well as mine and do all our shopping at once. its a beautiful arrangement! Or it WAS when I could still walk!:upsidedow

I LOVE to grocery shop, too.
When I'm depressed I go to the two local stores in town and buy stuff. DH knows when I had a crappy day because there are grocery bags everywhere.
I don't know what it is.. but it makes me happy!

Well, we did it. The closet is cleaned out and all the furniture is gone from the baby's room. Whew, that was a chore. We now have a clean slate to work with. Less that 2 weeks and I will know the sex so we can decide on paint. Yipee!!!!!

I am glad the eye infection is cleared up. Diaper rash is nasty. DS can get really bad rashes now that he drinks more juice and it can come on within an hour of a bad diaper. It's hard to always be preventative about it but a coat of any cream from the beginning is helpful. I found that brand name Destin and A&D cleared up the rashes super fast ... as well as letting them go diaper free for as long as possible. Also a bath.

Congratulations!!

Thats such an awesome picture-- they got a great shot!

I was a huggies momma w/my oldest. Swore by them. This time around..youngest was in huggies, until I hit up a huge sale at target on pampers. I got several boxes figuring if they didn't work I could return all but the open one and send the open one to daycare, as they are constantly changing him. Well, they work great and they keep him entertained w/all the characters. This kid is a sesame kid....as hard as I try, he loves all the characters. Pooh bear, not so much UGH!!

Went to Target today because I heard about the huge baby clearance I got a double stroller that converts to sitnstand (exactly what I wanted) for $80!! It was 1/2 off. They had a regular sit and stand, but I think Brady will be too little for that until the baby is about 1. The pattern, I would have picked a different one if I had a choice, but for $80, I'm good w/it!! Plus, they had their diaper case clearance going on again. It ended up being .21/diaper, which is better than what I pay at BJ's. I got 3 cases. If they had size 1, I probably would have got some for the new baby. I got 2 cases of wipes, just under 1,000 wipes each (pampers) for $13, as well...cheaper and ton more wipes than BJ's.

So all in all...great target shopping night!

TTC means trying to conceive.

Seems like several of us had rough weeks-I'm hoping we all have a great weekend!

Ohhh okay.

Yeah, definitely.

Have a great weekend everyone, hope your MS lightens up Sarah!

My parents are meeting DH tomorrow to get the nursery painted while I am at work. I'm excited.
Unfortunately new carpet is about a month away (3 week special order, eeek!) so I still can't really make my nursery yet.. :(

so...how do i post a picture once DD decides to make her appearance? or, i should say, what is the SIMPLEST way?

Well.
Not heartburn.

Gallstones... I woke up at 1am and the pain was 10x worse and all over, below my chest, on the right side, etc. After an hour of not being able to make it go away, I woke up DH and he took me to the ER because I was hysterical (crying, etc.).. it really hurt, what can I say?

Being 21 weeks, the ER was required to "admit" me to Labor and Delivery. Let me tell you.. that that nurse clearly didn't want to be there. There was another lady in labor (had a healthy baby! :goodvibes ) so the LPN and RN were in and out. OB was at the other hospital, which apparently had 3 people in labor!

After TWO HOURS of listening to baby's heartbeat and watching me cry and asking me if I felt better yet (not sure how a baby heart monitor, which is ALL they did, was supposed to make me feel better :confused3 ), they DISCHARGED ME BACK TO THE ER! :faint:

Within ten minutes they had me in a bed, with an IV and were royally pissed L&D gave me nothing. So, they called up there to get approval and gave me Reglan and Demerol.
Finally. I could breathe. And stop crying! It was like magic. ::yes::

They pretty much knew it was my gallbladder, but took blood and told me I had to wait for the US tech to come in at 7, to be sure. Blood work came back indicating I had gallbladder trouble.. and US revealed stones.

They told me as long as I don't get sick again, I don't have to be rushed to surgery (they said if my stone moved a bit more, I'd have to be rushed to surgery) but that it's very important I speak with my OB first thing Monday morning to decide how to progress.

I'm glad to know what it is but really scared. He said the surgery has a miscarry chance (of course, doesn't everything when you're pregnant?) and I'm in the right trimester to do it but it's a decision my OB and I need to make.

..so.. Not heartburn.

:grouphug: So sorry you are going through this, and that you nurse didn't seem to know what to do with you! I'll be praying that you don't have any more flareups for the next 19 wks!

That makes my morning sound better. All you guys talking about OJ the other day had me craving some. I haven't tried any in weeks because I threw it up every time I drank it. I thought maybe I could keep it down now. Well, lets just say Katie made it clear that she DOES NOT LIKE OJ! It was bad-not only did I get to clean the toilet but the walls around it. :crazy2: I won't be trying it again until she is laying next to me in the hospital!

Thanks! I'm relieved to know what it is, I will admit. When I woke up this morning with that pain I knew that it was NOT heartburn...

Sorry about the OJ thing! I'm not going near anything for awhile.. I'm afraid to eat stuff, the Dr. said to stay away from whatever I've been eating... but
all I've had is chicken noodle soup! Eeek!

Hope Katie finds some things she likes for you soon!

When I had gallbladder issues (had it remove right before I was 21) it wasn't an emergency at the time, so I scheduled it for the next week. Well, pretty much all I ate was toast that week. I couldn't have anything fried/greasy. no "roughage" so salads, etc were out. I was still in college at the time, so it was interesting trying to eat on campus. I stayed away from most dairy, as well.

They had me on a very, very bland diet. toast, broth, etc.

Good Luck....

Oh my gosh! Hope your stone doesn't move anymore!!! Is there anything you can do to make it not move? Or is it just nature? Good LUCK!!!!!

Piecey, hope you feel better soon.

December, I bought OJ today, because we have been talking about it. I haven't tried it in a while either. I hope I don't have yuo reaction.
