Yay!!:goodvibes

So the Dr gave me Zofran. I guess it's stronger than Reglan? I wonder if my regular dr will switch me to Reglan when I see her on Wednesday.
So I took the first pill and I do feel a bit better...that was scary for a little while there...I almost went to the ER.

I was curious if anyone had cute stories/ideas of how they told their families that they were expecting. We're not letting the cat out of the bag until Christmas, almost 12 weeks along.

I went for my montly appointment with my GP today. I lost two pounds since last month. She said that's perfectly normal and especially understandable since I had been so sick. She says that I look like I'm having a boy since I'm carry so high. Hmmmm....

I love the way my boss' daughter told her she was pregnant.

My boss is WAY, WAY into photography and scrapbooking. She does both obsessively (she even has a tote she'll bring and do stuff on her lunch sometimes!) and so the daughter worked at the hospital and had a friend in the ultrasound department do an early, early ultrasound and she scrapbooked it on a page and brought it into the bank (where we worked) and gave it to her.

My boss CRIED her eyes out and we were all getting teary too. She was SOO happy and she even had a great first page for the new scrapbook!!

..I found out the day before my dad's 51st birthday. They were on vacation so I called and said 'Happy Birthday!" and dad set me up with the perfect follow up... he said:
Dad: "Yeah, your mom said I looked a year older this morning!"
Me: "Oh, really? Did she think you looked like a grandpa too??"
Dad: "Excuse me?"
Me: "Did she think you looked like a grandpa? You're going to be one!"
Dad: "Oh. Wow. That's wonderful. I'll tell your mother!!"
*hangs up the phone*
About two seconds later I get a call back and my mom is freaking out. :rotfl:

You could give everyone a special ornament...ie: #1 Grandma, #1 Aunt...etc.

Thank you!

I went for another ultrasound today...Here is the 3D of the 4D. He looks just like Daddy. (Ann, not sure if the 4Ds are covered by insurance, the tech did this for me for poops and giggles since I am there all the time getting checked out due to my thyroid problem...I do know alot of insurance does not cover this since alot of couples just do it for fun...does that make sense?)

His estimated weight is 2.1 #s and does not have any thyroid issues...:cool1:

I was on Zofran 1st. It is supposed to be a wonder drug but didn't work for me. Nothing stops my vomiting, but Reglan seems to slow it down some.

Thanks! I started feeling really faint and jittery, so I called the dr and she chastised me for not calling sooner. She called the prescription in for me and DH is going to get it (I'm at work).

I've lost like 7 pounds. But I thought it was normal, so I was just putting up with it...Until I started feeling like I was dehydrated.

Now if I can keep down the granola bar and water.
Awesome! My doctor got on me too.. She said there was no reason for me to feel THAT bad. I hope you feel better!
I lost weight at the beginning too. I think 10 or 12 pounds.. I still havent gained it back yet, which is worrisome. My Dr. was practically jumping for joy that I had gained 3 pounds at my last appointment. My belly is HUGE.. just everything else is getting smaller. no big loss there, trust me. :lmao:
Thanks!

Um.... not with this one. I called my mom bawling my eyes out... All I could get out was that I went to the Dr. She thought I was dying, and BOY, did she laugh when I told her we were having twins.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We told my parents at Thanksgiving. I made placecards that said Grandma for my mom, Grandpa for my dad, Aunt for my sister, Great Grandma etc. We loved seeing their faces as they registered what the card meant.

I thought I was over the worst of the morning sickness, but I felt really bad this evening until I could throw up. I don't mind the actual throwing up since it makes me feel better. It's the queasiness and the dry heaving I hate!

I had my first "appointment" today, but all they did was weigh me, give me a bunch of pamphlets, ask me questions, and then sent me to the lab for another blood test and urine sample. I guess I go back in a couple weeks for a more physical exam. It was nice not having to undress today for the appointment though. I'm 8 weeks today and was a little surprised by that.

Thats all my first was, too, goodeats.

Except they gave me a copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and a BUNCH of pre-natals.
My next appointment was the physical exam, heartbeat, etc. !
Did you schedule that one yet? It was way better, even though I had to get nakkie! ;)

Awesome! I was sure I felt the kicks at 18 weeks. A couple of weeks before that, I felt a strange tickling or fluttering sensation at the very top of my uterus.

So the Dr gave me Zofran. I guess it's stronger than Reglan? I wonder if my regular dr will switch me to Reglan when I see her on Wednesday.

No cute story here. My SIL's father died in late June of complications related to a cord blood transfusion he got to cure his leukemia. His cancer was gone, but he developed respiratory distress syndrome. He wasn't supposed to die, he was actually relatively healthy, but the treatments you get for the transfusion are tough (basically, they have to kill your immune system and the transfusion gives you a new one). Anyway, we had found out about the pregnancy on Father's Day and were going to keep it quiet until the first ultrasound. But we changed our minds and decided to spread some good news while we were in Arizona for the memorial.

I got to surprise my husband in the most amazing way possible with this pregnancy. Here is the link if you want to read about it (post #51)

I can't tell you how grateful I was to the Dream Team for helping me make that happen! :goodvibes

I have gone for several appointments so far. (I'm in my 18 or 19th week.) and have yet to undress. The doc checks my heartbeat and blood pressure and legs for swelling. And I get weighed. But no undressing. Is this abnormal? I did have a PAP during my second month which we due anyway.

I got undressed so she could do the regular GYN exam ( I was due, too) and then so she could feel around for my fundus/uterus and the size, etc.
She said all was normal, the expected size, etc, so I wouldn't have to until much later in the pregnancy again.
