Any advice would be great.

I would invest in a good sling or carrier (there are number of baby-wearing boards out there where you could get good advice on this). I imagine at 2mos the LO will be most comfortable this way. Obviously, you'll have to restrict rides w/baby to the ones w/out a height restriction but you will still find plenty to do. You can definitely do the rider swap thing if you want to take turns with the baby so every one can do the rides. Child Swap/Single Rider info Hopefully your MIL will be a big help on this trip and if she want to, LET her. :-) I have been on a few trips with MIL myself and I think my biggest piece of advice there is be flexible and willing to go with the flow and change plans. Sometimes you have to do this to keep the peace if ykwim. When we went to DW with MIL once we were surprised that she wanted to sleep until 11am and turn in at about 7 or 8 which really does not work for us! So you might want to figure out a plan ahead of time in case your party wants to split up. Maybe she could take the baby back to the hotel for the evening while the rest of you enjoy a night time show or two? It is a thought.

hth and have a great trip.

My best advice would be to go when it is NOT hot, but I see you already have your trip planned. In that case, take it easy and take breaks during the hotter parts of the day. Having so many adults will be helpful for sure:)

I agree with the baby wearing idea. I have done the parks with my son when he was just one month old and you definitely need either a sling or a bjorn style pouch. Get a good quality one that will be comfortable. This is not the time to skimp. If you do the stroller thing then you are getting them in and out of the stroller constantly. With our twins we kind of have to do that as my shoulders are not strong enough to do this all day. Its rough either way for me.

I also agree cooler weather time is a better time to go. I have lived in the south since I was 8. All 4 of my kids obviously born in the south. If they do not do so well with this heat and humidity then it baffles me how the true northerners survive out there all day in the sun. The babies are so tiny that they just dehydrate too easy. My best advice on this issue btw is go to the bass pro shop or a similar store and ask for the chill pads. This is a towel you wet down and it becomes cold. It works really well for someone who is overheating.

If you have not been introduced to the Baby Care Stations they are great for people with small kids. We have a 2 yrs old and a 3 month old. We are headed for Disney in August and Dec this year and have been 5 times since our oldest daughter was born so i can tell you that the baby Care Stations are helpful for all little ones. :thumbsup2

They have changing rooms, playrooms, nursing rooms, etc. They are all a little different but there is one at each park. It is air conditioned and there is a cast member there to help you. There is a link on the main Disboard page and you can also get information on Disney's main website.

Have fun! :yay:

Disney with a newborn is easy to do. We went when my son was 3 months old. I brought along his stoller and a sling. I wore him some and he rode in the stroller some. He did great!! He was much easier as a newborn than a toddler :lmao:

Do take advantage of the baby care centers. They are wonderful!!

We are heading to Disney very soon:cool1: with our DS (2 1/2) and DD who will be 9 weeks when we go. DS has been going since he was 12 weeks old and the baby care centers are great, especially on a hot day (which it usually is when we travel). Take lots of breaks and I also suggest a good sling or carrier. It's so much easier than moving the baby in and out of the stroller all the time. Even in the heat I don't mind using the carrier since many of the attractions have AC. We also like to leave the parks by 12:00 or 1:00 and go back the hotel for a swim, nap, etc. so we're out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. Disney with a newborn is not difficult if you plan well. Have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

I would be more worried about taking the MIL! ;) jk but we did take our 6 week old last year and it was easier when she was that small then when she was 9 months. Baby care centers will be your best friend and so will a nice, light weight sling. DOnt forget a big floppy hat for her and maybe a stroller fan to keep her cool.
