Hello Everyone,
I am brand new, just signed up and this is my firs post and I am posting it to tell you all that I think this Forum is awesome!

I'm going back to Disneyland Paris for the first time in 3 years in just over two weeks and we're planning for WDW next Year.
And I am beyond excited and just can not wait! So to stop myself from starting to pack 2 Weeks in advanced or going planning-crazy, I've been surfing the Internet a lot, looking for everything on Disneyland Paris.

I've come across quite a few Forums, English and German, and this one is by far my favorite and that's why I actually joined.
It's so evident that you all still love Disneyland and that's awesome!
I loved to read all the awesome Trip Reports!
Most of the other Forums I've found and read through, there is more complaining than enjoying going on.

So I wanted to say, you guys are all awesome and I am glad there are still People out there who love Disneyland Paris, even if it isn't all perfect and not what it used to be and sometimes things don't work!

So, thank you all! :woohoo:
Kat

Hi and Welcome Kat !

You will find a lot of very nice and friendly fellows on this board.

I know exactly what you mean.

It would be easier for me to post in a German forum, but here you will get better infos, tips, help and reports from other Disney fanatics.

It´s a great place to be.

:wizard:

Hello Kat and Welcome :cheer2:

Thank you for the thank you :goodvibes

Ask away, we love answering questions and the planning fanatics (they know who they are :rotfl:) will have you organised in no time :wizard:

Welcome!!!

You've definitely come to the right place! :)

What are your trip plans so far?

I'm going back next month for the first time in over 3 years too, and I can't wait. :goodvibes:

The UK Trip Planning board for WDW is awesome too, so once you're back from DLRP you can get planning on that too! ;)

Hello and welcome but beware, this site is addictive! No, you are definitely in the right place to share the magic... happy planning and anticipation. :)

Hi Kat and welcome to the mad house!!

And if you have a question just ask away. Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question on this forum as we have all asked them ourselves over the years!

Have fun.

Jonjo

Thanks so much everyone for making me feel welcome.
After I posted, I was a bit worried that I might offend people, which of course wasn't my intention.

I've been to Disneyland Paris before, so I'd go so far as to say I am pretty well informed... plus, I've been reading a lot about it.
I just have trouble dealing with waiting for the time to pass! :rotfl: If I knew what weather to expect, I would already be packing! :-)

This is the first time I am going with a "Partner", having previously gone with my Parents or my best friend and my sister. So I think this will be a completly different experience. He's been to WDW before, but not to DLP. Unfortunately, he's the "last-minute"-type, while I am the "planning month ahead"-type, so I've been planning everything by myself so far.

We're flying to CDG on Sunday, going back on Thursday, staying at the Sequoia Lodge (another first for me). I definitely want to dine at the Blue Lagoon, where I've eaten previously and I want to try the Agrabah Café. I'm planning on making reservations for both as soon as we get there.
Other than that I am planning on making full use of the EMH (something OH is aware off, thought I don't think he really understands that this means getting up at 6am! :upsidedow) and I really really wanna try TOT, since my previous company always wussed out and I didn't want to go alone...
Oh, and POTC is my favorite ride, it has to be the first and the last of the Trip! And tons of other "little" plans that I don't want to bore you with...

The only question I actually have is: how busy will it be? I couldn't find any indicator anywhere on the web! My last two trips were late September and early October and it was so nice and quiet.
I checked everything before booking, School Holidays in the UK, France, Spain and Germany, Public Holidays etc, to make sure it won't be too crowded. I only found out afterwards that the 7th of May is a French Public Holiday. :worried:

And I would like to know what the weather is gonna be like. But for that one, I guess I will just have to be a little more patient. Which is difficult. Very difficult! ;)

It's the 8th of May that's the public holiday but many people will take the 7th off as it's a Monday and make a 4 day weekend.

It's also end of the school holidays for the Zone B (which includes the North of France) on that Monday so again seeing as Tuesday is off and Wednesday there is no school for the lo's I think a lot of children won't be going back.

So it will be busy, busy BUT you have the extra long hours which you don't normally get at this time of year so hopefully it will balance out especially if you have planned a minimum :thumbsup2

Weather .... come back nearer the time :rotfl: Hopefully not like this week that has been cold and wet and windy everyday :rolleyes2

Hi :wave2:

Looks like we'll be there the same week - 6th May?

I didn't know about the holidays either until we'd booked, but I'm sure it'll be managable. I doubt everyone in France will want to visit DLP just because it's a holiday :rotfl: at least I'm hoping not ;)

I'm wondering about weather too. We've been this time before, but it was 14 years ago, so can't remember the weather exactly. I think it was mainly dry, but overcast so jeans and light jacket weather. Hopefully we'll get an up to date weather forecast in the next week.

Your plans sound great :thumbsup2 You might not need to get up so early. With the extended opening hours (22.30 that week) that you could do EMH and then go back to the hotel for a later breakfast. That's what we do. I find it helps break the day up.

Look forward to hearing more - maybe you'll start a PTR on the trip reports page and then tell us all about it when you get back popcorn::

Trust me, you could never bore us! :rotfl2:

We are also staying the Sequoia Lodge in June, it's my favourite hotel and I'm sure you'll love it, too!

Welcome.

You sound like you are getting organised for your trip. Looking forward to hearing more of the details:goodvibes

Thanks again so much for all your inputs!

Oh yeah, true, I got the Dates mixed up. Ah well, I think we could handle a few more people. Though I still have the hopes that all the French will either be too exhausted from voting the weekend before or even being busy voting again... ;)
:rotfl:

Yes, that's the Date. 6th till 10th. Cool!

You might not need to get up so early. With the extended opening hours (22.30 that week) that you could do EMH and then go back to the hotel for a later breakfast.

I was considering that, but I don't think it would be possible to get my BF anywhere without Breakfast! He'd rather get up early than wait for his breakfast for two hours! :rotfl:

Trust me, you could never bore us!
Well, let's just say I wanna do EVERYTHING (apart from Playhouse Disney)
But generally, my main goal for these Holidays is making sure my BF is having an amazing time and turn him into a DLP Lover like I am so we can keep going back! ::yes::
I've made Plans for Restaurants, the Blue Lagoon as previously mentioned and the Agrabah Café. Also the Toad Hall, which I've never been, a Hot Dog from Casey's Corner is also on the list.
I also want to take a couple of hours at one day to take a walk around Lake Disney and the Rio Grande, showing BF all the other Hotels.
And we're meeting a Friend of mine from Paris on Sunday, for that I thought Annette's would be nice for Dinner, because I haven't been in there either!

I just expect this to be a completly different experience going with someone who's never been and who has no idea what to expect, than to go with two friends who each have their own Idea of what they want to do. So I am really excited! (How many times did I write that now? :lmao:)

Welcome to the DIS :goodvibes
Without wanting to be nasty about any other sites, I do find this forum to be the friendliest and most positive place to talk about DLP and get excited for trips with like-minded Disney loons :rotfl:
Your trip is so soon, it'll be here before you know it! Have you made restaurant bookings?

Hiya we're staying at the SQL from the 6th to 10th too! Slightly concerned at the busy factor myself but we're going for DDs birthday so wasn't too much we could do about the dates. You've got a few days though and extended hours so I reckon you should get to do everything you want. See u there!! :cool1:
