New to the DISboard, My family will be traveling to Disney on Nov 28-Dec 4. My youngest daughter Lindsey has JDM, a life threatening auto immune disease. Her doctor referred her to Make A Wish, so her wish was to go to disney. We are so excited and can't wait for our best family vacation ever!!! Any families out there that has been through MAW recently? Would love to hear stories if you want to share

Hi and welcome!:cheer2:

There's a thread in this forum for wish trips. The posters there are just amazing. Many are planning wish trips and others have already been. We just got back last week from DD's wish trip! Many have done pretrip and trip reports. You can see the links in their signatures. I'd drop in there an introduce yourself. Everyone there is just a wealth of information!

Thanks so much, I will have to check it out. I hope you and your family had an amazing trip.

Just what I was going to suggest.

There are also some helpful links to MAW information in post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Hello! :wave2:

:welcome: to the DISboards and I am so glad you guys are going to Disney on a wish trip!

There is a blue link in my signature below that will take you to our most recent Wish Trippers thread. Feel free to post over there and ask any questions you would like!

:)

Thanks for all the great stories I've read already, and for the helpful information. Still getting my feet wet on how all this works.

Welcome to the Dis!!! :goodvibes We went in 06, it wasn't a wish trip, but my dd has CP and is in a wheelchair. It is such a magical place, and so special for our kids! It is so accessible and there is truly something for everyone. Never once did I have that sad feeling or thought that she was missing out on anything!! She LOVED the characters, every picture I have of her she was kissing them! The shows were a little tricky with the sensory issues, but you figure out what works and what doesn't. There is so much to do, or not! Relaxing by the pool or sitting to watch the world go by is even fun in Disney!! Have fun and enjoy your trip, I know your daughter will have such a wonderful vacation!!
