Newbie with reservation questions! HELP!!

Hi

I am new here and don't know a lot about reservations...I was under the impression that you only had to make reservations for character meals...but through the little reading that I have done...I am thinking that is not true!

Do you have to make reservations for a meal even if it's going to be at the resort in which you are staying?

And, do you have to make reservations for breakfast as well?

Just so you know, we are staying at the WL....

I guess I'd better get on the phone???

If you're wanting to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL, yes, I would make reservations. You would probably be OK with waiting until you arrive to make them, depending on when you're going.

For any table service restaurant -- not just character meals -- it's a good idea to make ADRs. Saves you from waiting or getting turned away because they're full. You can make your ADRs 180 days prior to your vacation, so if you're within six months, you can call anytime. A lot of people don't know about the 180 days yet, so it's not something you have to do right away. You may want to take a look at park hours and EMH hours and plan a rough itinerary from there before you make any ADRs.

A good rule of thumb is to make an ADR for ANY restaurant you really want to eat in. The time of the year you are going does make a difference sometimes, but the Dining Plan has made most Table Service restaurants busier than in the past. Even resort restaurants can be booked solid during the busier times of the year.
