Newbie to the Wish Board

Hi all ,
I am a newbie to this board. I have a 7 day Eastern Cruise booked for 11/29 and would really like to loose a little bit of weight before the cruise. Not a set amount per say--I just want to see the scale go down!

In the spring I did weight watchers and was very successful and lost 30lbs. Then I got a new job and stopped going to meetings and haven't lost in the past two months. I guess the good thing is I haven't gained any of the 30lbs back--yet! Anyway booking this cruise has motivated me to get back on WW program.

I just know I need the motivation to keep it going. I am going to go back on WW, even though it's slower, I know that program best and can adapt it to my lifestyle best. I am not sure how this board works, I will have to do some surfing...

Do you all follow a specific plan or support each other in various plans?

Anyway, hoping for a little success before my 7 day cruise. I know I would feel awesome stepping onto the Magic lighter then I am right now!! :earsgirl: :wave:

You will find lots of encouragement here, and hopefully be able to add a little of your own! You follow whatever plan feels best for you! If you're not sure which plan you want to follow - feel free to read some of the success stories here on WISH! The two basic plans followed here are WW and Atkins, but there are quite a few other plans too.

to our family of losers! you are already a big loser and I'm so glad you stopped by! I am doing WW (on my own) and am always grateful for a new fellow WWer that will help me through my journey!!

There are threads stuck to the top of the board to grab the WISH clipart if you'd like to officially join our group. There are no rules only that you may only look forward and never backward; and we share only supportive and positive words! of course if you are having a hard day we want to be here for you too, but we are in this to support each other, as little or as much as you may need!

how exciting to be cruising! i'm anxiously counting down to my first cruise - Disney style!

You can definately lose a few in a month! I know where you're coming from, I'd much rather step on board with a little cushion in my weight range!

There is a great bunch of WWers here on this board if you need some inspiration, recipes, etc! Thanks for sharing your success story and come back after your cruise to help me learn about maintainence! I hope to be there Jan/2004.

Look for me. My family and I will be on the rocks of Jetty Park waving frantically at the Magic as it sails on 11/29. Of course, we'll be smiling b/c we'll know the very next day that we'll be boarding the Wonder.

You've come to the right place! There's a great thread with WW recipes http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=321982 , there's tons of WISHers who are very supportive and willing to encourage and help you when you need it most.

I follow WW and I love it. It works for me b/c I can eat the foods I like, but in moderation. I also do the Walk Away the Pounds dvd's (WATP) which are great exercise tools. I really believe these dvd's have helped me with my weight loss. Good luck with your weight loss and enjoy your cruise!
 
Welcome to WISH - this is a great board that supports everyone no matter what program they are on. I'm doing WW online.

I see you are already a DCL veteran so you know you'll be in for the time of your life on the Magic!

There are lots of little challenges going on as well. The one in my signature below is for people motivated to lose an amount they choose by Thanksgiving. I leave for WDW right after so my goal is 10 lbs.

So glad you joined us. Hope you stay and give and get support!

Hi DisneyGator01:wave: I'm glad you're joining us here on WISH! If it's encouragement and motivation you want, you will find plenty of both and a lot of fun, too!!!

You're already doing great by losing 30 pounds and keeping it off!! That shows you have already made some real changes in your lifestyle that have paid off!! :D

One thing more that you might want to do is post to the WISH challenge thread, so that nativetxn can add your name to the WISH roster. You'll find it here:

And don't forget to pick up your member clippie!! We start with the Member clippie and then change to the 5 lb, 10 lb, etc as we lose!! It's very motivating!!! Find instructions for adding the clip art here:
