I've taken a Disney Cruise before, but am seriously considering taking a Royal caribbean this time to Alaska. My DBF & I have really been wanting to experience an Alaskan trip for a while now and now that we know we love cruises we decided to pair the two up :goodvibes.

SO my question is.. has anyone been on one and can they share some about it? I've only been on the Disney ship before so have no experience with Royal Caribbean.. we are going sans kids so it'll just be us two. We don't gamble (we live in Las Vegas and can do that anytime but neither of us are interested) and are pretty mild mannered for the most part. Also.. this is probably a stupid question but does it get cold in August/ Alaska?

Oh and looks like (if this helps) we'll be heading out on the "Jewel of the Seas" which I've heard plesant things about :)

TIA! :goodvibes

Did you also look at Princess? They have excellent Alaskan itineraries...

My mom has been wanting us to cruise with her for the last few years so I've been pricing Alaska cruises for May/June 2015. We're looking at the RCCL 7 Night Alaska Sawyer Glacier Cruise from Seattle - prices start at $704/pp.

I looked at Princess but the prices were higher.

We were very pleased with our cruise on the Jewel of the Seas.

I have not done an Alaska cruise yet, but have been on the Radiance Class ships and loved them! I am boarding the Jewel in a few days (she is sailing the Southern Caribbean now). The Radiance Class ships were built with Alaska in mind because the have quite of bit of window space for viewing. They do have a covered pool (Solarium). I get a kick out of playing pool on the self balancing tables. The table will move with the boat, but the balls stay still. I will let you know more post cruise.

I was also considering a Disney cruise in 2015 but opted for a one-way itinerary on Radiance of the Seas in June 2015. Used Dreams Unlimited travel and they already contacted me about a price drop- a nice surprise.

I think you will find a significant amount of information on Cruise Critic. Although I love DIS for Disney stuff just not enough info on this board for Royal. There are hundreds of video tours of varying quality on YouTube with this exact ship/itinerary so there is little left for surprises. There is tons information out there if interested.
