I apologize if this is a stupid question.

I booked flights for us 1/27/12-2/5/12 on Southwest and used points for the whole deal.

My DH cannot travel during those dates now because of work.

If I cancel those dates then I will receive all the points back into my Rapid Rewards account, correct?

Now here's the question-- what if I cannot fly down again until the same time next year 1/25/13-2/3/13? All those points will still be good, right? The refunded points do not then have an expiration date on them, do they? Still no expiration date that the points must be used by?

TIA! I've never booked flights with points before- let alone from Southwest RR. Any response is appreciated. thanks.

Yes, the points get placed back into your account. My understanding is the points never expire, even in a case like that. Hopefully someone can clarify.
