I've seen it here on the DVC board but I don't know what it means - what is "walking" when referring to a reservation?

Thanks!
Karen

DVC changed the way reservations work, from check-out date to check-in date. we can book up to 7 nights in a row.

so let's say you want to book the nights of dec 22-28 and you're worried that dec 24 will be unusually hard to book.

the first day you can book dec 24 is actually jan 18, 11 months from dec 18. so you call and book dec 18-24. then call back the next day and "walk the reservation" forward to dec 19-25 by adding the night of the 25th and canceling the 18th. the next day you call back and do the same thing to get to dec 20-26, and so on until you have your dec 22-28 dates locked in.

meanwhile, member B wants the same dates but calls 11 months from check-in on jan 22...to find he can't get it because dec 24 is booked solid.

and that's basically the theory, as i understand it.

Ok - thanks! I couldn't figure out what on earth it meant! :)

So "walking" sounds just like what everbody did before- just keep calling and adding on a day??
