Newbie question regarding Theme Park hours

Just wondering if they make everyone leave at the closing time or if they just stop allowing people in at that time ?

Example if the time for a park says 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. do you have to leave the park at that time. Or do they just close the rides ?

The rides will close at the time listed, so using your example, at 7pm they will close the lines off to the attractions. Everyone that was already in line will still get to ride.

The main stores (for example the stores on Main Street at MK) will remain open, usually about an hour after the posted park closing time. They will clear the back areas of the park and allow you to linger a little longer in the front. So again using MK as an example, they will clear the lands up to the castle and let you linger on Main Street for about an hour to an hour and a half or so...

If you are staying at the Disney Resorts the hour after closing is nice to browse the gift shops. This is what we usually do if the kids are not too tired. By the time we get to the bus stop the lines are usually not so long.

I not sure if this will be much help or not, but in AK this past June the park was closing and we were walking into a gift shop. A CM greeted us at the door to tell us the shop was closing. We just smiled and said ok, thank you...and walked away. I always thought that we would be able to kill alittle time since I knew the people in the lines were "still in the lines"...we didn't try it again, so not sure if it was just this gift shop or if they all were clsoing up quick. Can't say I blame them...I wanna go home at the end of the day too!
