Newbie Question - Combo Points/Cash ressie

Newbie question - how do you go about making a combo ressie? We are thinking about going over a weekend and want to save points on Sat night. Where do you find the rate for the cash ressie - do we get a discount or is it rack rate? How do we make sure that it is linked to avoid changing rooms?

Member Services makes the cash reservation for you. Sometimes they have a 25% off member discount. Not always is the discount available. They have always linked the cash night and point nights together for me on their computer. We have never had to change rooms, but there is no guarantee you won't. But, like I said, it's never happened to me to have to change rooms and I've combined cash and points on at least four trips. On the cash night you gave them your credit card number. You have to cancel at least five days before check-in to not be charged for the cash night.
