First thank you all for your useful info. I've been looking over the disboards for several yrs and have gained valuable information. I'm 60 and dh is 62 but young at heart. Would post pic but not sure how.
I love Disney and can't wait for our visit Oct 30 thru Nov 3. Staying at POFQ. I've notice that most touring plans suggest you stay out of the park with the emh. Is that true if your staying on site too and can take advantage of the EMH? Wouldn't it be best to get that extra hr before everyone is allowed to arrive? Thanks in advance for response

If you know for certain you will get up and be at the park in time for the early EMH, then I would do it. We also usually have hoppers so we can hop out of that park around noon or early afternoon and go to a more recommended park. But even without hoppers, we would probably stick with the early EMH park, because we know we will be up and there enjoying that extra hour. You might want to plan a midday break to avoid some of the most crowded hours of the park anyway.

The theory is that the EMH parks are busier because people who don't plan (probably 70-80% of guests) choose the EMH park even if they don't get up and get to it in time. Therefore the EMH park is busier on those days than on days without EMH.

For me personally, I am an EMH fan. I like having the extra hour. The morning EMH is a good opportunity to hit some rides first thing in the morning before rope drop, and the evening EMH is usually quiet since the majority of people don't stay out that late. I don't plan my trip around EMH, but I don't avoid them, either. We also don't park hop so once we're in a park, that's where we're spending the day.

Offsite: avoid EMH park

On site: take part in EMH, especially if you'll be park hopping. The extra time can give you enough to get a lot done but after that the park will be crowded so it's best to hop.

My DH & I are about two years older; POFQ is our favorite resort! We are early risers and love being out and about at Disney in the morning. We often to the morning EMH; get lots done and then leave late morning when it gets more crowded. We take a break at our resort and then "hop" to another park later in the day or evening. Last November we did morning EMH at AK and did everything on our list with no or very short waits; ended up canceling our fast passes because we did not need them.

We now avoid evening EMH as we found them to be more crowded; few open attractions and few eating opportunities. The darkness makes it harder to see where you are walking, etc.

We are early birds too, so maybe I'll try Ak on Nov 2nd for their Emh. Unfortunately it looks like there is no emh for Mk when we are going. We will be doing parks with and without Emh. We didn't purchase the hopper, so where we go in the morning is where we will stay. Good idea to take a break in the afternoon and come back later in the day. Thanks for everyone's reply.

We do evening EMH but seldom morning EMH and we don't park hop.
