Newbie question about discounts... Please help!

So, we are going for the first time and staying at POR the first week of December. It seems that for the past few years, discounts have become available during our timeframe. My questions are:

Can we take advantage of discounts if they become available?

Will I have to re-book/lose dining reservations etc?

Are they limited in the number of discount packages available?

How hard will it be to get if they are limited?

What do you think the discount would be for a 6 night stay on DDP with PH?

1) if there is availability with the offer and your room time, yes.

2) they can modify. You're dining reservations will stay regardless.

3) yes.

4) depends how limited it is and when you end up getting through. Can't predict that.

5) likely just a percentage of the room cost.

Thanks! What would be recommended if a discount is announced? Hop on the phone/web immediately? Is that the best way to get it?

How will I know when a discount is released? We have an agent we've been working with but I've done the majority of the booking as she is somewhat flaky...
