1. what are your top 3 favorite rides in all 4 of the parks (mk, epcot, hollywood studios/mgm and animal kingdom)?

2. what rides wouldn't you go on in the 4 parks?

3. what was your all-time favorite restaurant in disney (any/all of the parks)?

4. what is your favorite tip you would give a newbie?

thanks in advance for your answers!!

3 Favorite rides...
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad @ Magic Kingdom
  • Rock n' Rollercoaster @ Hollywood Studios
  • Spaceship Earth @ Epcot

Rides I wouldn't go on...
  • Mission: Space @ Epcot (both versions made my stomach turn)
  • Backlot Tour @ Hollywood Studios (pretty lame since they changed it)
  • Tea Cups @ Magic Kingdom (almost as sick as Mission: Space!)
Favorite restaurant...
  • Sci-Fi Dine-In @ Hollywood Studios (pretty basic food fare but, you're out of the sun sitting in a car in the dark watching goofy movie bits on the big screen. It's relaxing for us)

Favorite tip... here's 2...
  • SHOES! Comfortable shoes... and keep in mind that strollers appear to have the right of way there and you could injure a toe!
  • Have a Pineapple Dole Whip at Aloha Isle @ Magic Kingdom

My top 3 are Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and Soarin

I don't do Rock and Roller Coaster, it scres me too much while waiting in the limo at the beginning.

Favorite restaurant is Le Cellier, Hazelnut coffee rubbed kansas city steak.

Best tip is to pre-order bottled water from garden grocer.

rides i cant help don't do rides but food were to start

mk : aloha isle for a dole whip , cosmic rays for a burger with toppings bar , main street bakery for sweet things , pinocchio village for french fries ,the lunching pad for a turkey leg , and plaza ice cream parlor

epcot : all the countrys around the world and at france out by the lake they sell this orange slushy drink I cant rember what its called but it will knock you for a loop , and the sunshine seasons for a black forest ham and salami grinder

hollywood studios : backlot express for a grilled turkey and cheese , 50s prime time cafe just to experience the waitress and atmosphere , rosies all american cafe for a hamburger , flatbread grill for a pulled pork sub and toluca legs turkey co. for a turkey leg

animal kingdom : flame tree barbecue for the barbecue , pizzafari for hot italian sandwich and breadsticks , and try the picnic in the park

down town Disney : earl of sandwich its all good , ghirardelli soda fountain for a sugar rush , and wetzels pretzels for a pretzel dog

for tips just take your time dont try to do to much and have fun

OOOOHHHH I love questions!

Rides:
MK: Pirates
EP: Soarin
HS: Toy Story
AK: EVEREST!!!

Attractions:
MK: Haunted Mansion
EP: Illuminations
HS: Fantasmic
AK: The Safari

Restaurants:
MK: Cindy's Royal Table, you have to, just once
EP: Chefs for dinner, Akershus for Princess Breakfast
HS: Trying 50's Prime Time this year, so we'll see!!
**Stay away from the ABC Commissary!!**
AK: There's not much to choose from. Most would say
Flame Tree, but we are from NC, and that is NOT
barbecue.

Restaurants not in the parks:
DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express. Fantastic!! Way better than
Wolfgang Puck Cafe, IMHO
Poly: OHANA!!!!!

Tips: Make a reservation for O'Hana about 1.5 hours before Wishes.
Enjoy your dinner and then head down to the beach to watch the
fireworks over the castle :love::lovestruc:love::lovestruc

Have dinner at a resort off the beaten path. This way you can
experience more than just the parks. Try Olivia's at Old Key West!

RELAX!!!! Have a great time, and don't try to see it all, you can always come back!!!

FAVORITES

  • Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom

  • Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom

  • Tower of Terror at Disney Studios

  • Soarin' at Epcot

LEAST FAVORITES

  • Rock 'n Roller Coast at Disney Studios

  • Tea Cups at Magic Kingdom

  • MISSION: SPACE at Epcot

FAVORITE RESTAURANT

  • Trail's End at Fort Wilderness (even though this isn't at a park)

TIPS

  • Don't expect to do everything (it's impossible)

  • Bring a poncho because Florida weather is unpredictable

Please share the ages of your family members. That will help people match their suggestions to your needs. Also tell us if you have any daredevils or shy ones in the group!

Having said that we are not "ultra" roller coaster fans, but we will do all the rides in all the parks except Tower of Terror and the spinning version of Mission Space.

I want to emphasize that TWO pairs of good shoes should be brought on vacation. If one pair gets wet, they may not dry by the next morning.

You will have lots of fun!

Top 3 rides:
MK-POTC, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion
Epcot- Test Track, Kim Possible ( not a ride but still great)
AK- Safari, Dinosaur
DHS- Tower of Terror

Rides I wouldn't go on:
MK: Teacups- Don't like the spinning action
Epcot: Soarin-not sure how it would be since I am scared of heights
AK: EE-don't like the idea of going backwards
DHS: Rockin Roller Coaster- its the upside down part..UGH

Resturants:
MK- The Plaza (Table service)-its simple and tasty, Peco's Bill (counter service)- love the toppings bar.
Epcot- Garden Grill (TS)-character meal. It's one of the better ones we had. Food good as well. Sunshine Seasons (CS) lots of different choices compared to just burgers.
AK- Tusker House (TS)- some of the food sounds odd but it was tasty. We went for lunch. Flame Tree (CS)- another place that didn't just have burgers.
DHS- Hollywood and Vine (TS)- we like this place. Others don't, really depends on people. Mama Melrose (TS)-Italian place. Once again depends on the people.

Tips:
Wear good broken in shoes. We love peppermint oil to rub on after a day of walking.
Don't try to see or do it all in a day.
Remember it's a vacation- if you had to be in a rush it would be called work. :rotfl:
Stay hydrated-drink plenty of water
Go to the parks even if it rains. Most of the time the rain only last 20 minutes.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Favorite rides::lovestruc
Splash Mtn -MK
Touring the World Showcase-EPCOT
Tower of Terror- Studios
Kilj. Safari Ride- AK

Least Favorite::sad2:
Tea Cups-MK
Country Bears-MK
Beauty and Beast-Studios

Favorite restaurants::cloud9:
Le Cellier
Cinderella's Castle

Best Tip:
Plan your trip. Disney is a GREAT place to go but there is far to much stuff to do without planning your days. Which park to go to on which days and the attractions you and your group want to see. Have a big planning dinner to get everyone input. :grouphug: But when you get there RELAX and have a GOOD time!:yay:

Aside from rides, I wouldn't miss:
Mickey's Philharmagic - MK
It's Tough to be a Bug - AK
Fantasmic! - DHS

Favorite rides:
Haunted Mansion - MK
Pirates of the Caribbean - MK
Tower of Terror - DHS

Not sure if you have kids or what their ages, but these are my personal faves.

I travel with a little kid (5 y.o. last trip) and a big kid, my dh :) I'm going to cheat and give you multiple versions of the favorites list!

Favorites (kid/adult):
MK - Small World/Haunted Mansion
EPCOT - Soarin'/Soarin'
DHS - Toy Story Mania (but we adults love this too!)/Tower or Terror
AK - The Boneyard/Kilimanjaro Safari

Favorites - Off the Beaten Track version:
MK - Tomorrowland Transit Authority (lovely way to relax and rest your feet for awhile)
Epcot - Living With the Land (see above), Turtle Talk with Crush (so cute for kids)
DHS - Magic of Animation (more for the neat stuff to look at after the show bit)

The Skip It List:
MK - Stitch's Great Escape
Epcot - Honey I Shrunk the Audience
DHS - Great Movie Ride
AK - Bugs Life

Food Favorites (all in Epcot)
:
mine - Coral Reef
dh - Le Cellier
dd - Princess dining at Akershus

Tips for Newbies:
1. Make full use of the FP system...saves so much time!
2. At MK get there at rope drop and head to the back of the park first and work your way forward, against the flow of traffic, ideally you'll spend less time waiting in lines
3. Take your own water bottle and refill as needed, some people like the bottles that come with their own filter. We also take lots of snacks like beef jerky, granola bars and fruit strips - keeps cost down and helps to avoid meltdowns from dd.
4. We pack a box of cereal, fruit and applesauce cups, crackers and pb, and buy milk at the resort shop - if we don't have a breakfast reservation we all eat breakfast in the room before heading out for the day...another way to trim costs a bit.
5. If you plan on pin trading buy your pins from a reputable seller on eBay before you go - it will save you huge amounts of $$.
6. Make a plan, but don't be married to it...sometimes it's nice just to sit and watch the people and soak up the Magic!
