Hi

I am hoping someone can answer a few straightforward questions about booking and logistics for a new owner.

If we are planning on a trip Dec. 4 - 9, 2008, when is the first date we can start booking day by day at our home resort? When you call to book consecutive days is there a specific request you need to make so that the ressies are all linked?

Thanks for your help!

The check out day for December 4, 2008 (your first night) is on December 5, 2008. So you can call on January 5, 2008 to make that reservation.

Tell the CM that your final check out date is planned to be December 9, 2008 and that you will be calling each day to add to the reservation. The CM will note that on the reservation and hold the confirmation letter until you have reserved all of the days.

Many members book day by day, especially for early December, so you shouldn't have any trouble doing so. The CMs will know how to handle it for you.

Since Jan. 5th is a Saturday, don't forget to do Saturday hours when you call. Also, you will not be able to call on Sunday the 6th, so on Monday the 7th you will be able to make 2 days worth of ressies.

That all being said, if you are trying to reserve at one of the larger DVC resorts, I'd likely wait until the last checkout day to reserve the whole thing. THat is, unless you are trying to book a GV.

There is nothing to link if you do what Carol and Diane have described. On the first call tell the MS CM you want to book the first night of a day-by-day reservation. On each subsequent call, tell them that you want to add a day to an existing day-by-day reservation. They will just modify your reservation rather than create a new one. You will have just one reservation, not a bunch of individual ones that need to be linked.
