Newbie One Time Use points question.

Thanks. I have never used them as I have a bad case of addonitis!! I did not know if you made the fake reservation (inside 7 months of course) and then cancelled it would give you the 11 month window at that resort from where the otu points came from but it sounds like this would not be a factor.

OTU points never give you home resort priority. It just shows as though it’s one of your resorts.

That is why you can’t buy them until 7 months since all points. are equal at that point.

The only time you can get home resort advantage for points you don’t own is when you receive a transfer from another owner.

Just curious if your night requiring the One Time use points was at OKW?

To add another data point, we bought OTU points last year for a November stay at CCV. The points apparently came from Aulani, because Aulani shows as one of our home resorts when I go to book anything - even though we've used the OTU points already.

As Sandi says, buying OTU points is basically getting a transfer of points from another owner. That owner just happens to be Disney, and you don't get the home resort 11 month booking window with those points.
