We are getting ready to book our first trip to US/IOA for next September Our TA has a package priced out at Cabana Bay, but it doesn't include the front of the line pass. As I understand it, we can purchase this separately, but is it the same as if we stayed at Hard Rock (this is the other resort we are considering) Are all other amenities the same, such as early entry? I would really appreciate any advice and/or opinions. I am totally lost lol.
TIA

Depending on how many in the party, it usually ends up the same or cheaper to stay at the property that has express passes included.

HRH is a short walk to the parks
Boat taxi also available

Cbay could be a 20 minute walk depending on your pace
Bus service is the only other transportation way to the parks

Since the price comes out the same with what you wrote, go with HRH

The Express Passes included with the deluxe resorts (Hard Rock Hotel is deluxe) is an unlimited EP, meaning you can use it unlimited times on each ride each day. If you stay at Cabana Bay and buy Express Passes, there are two types: 1) Unlimited EP like at the deluxe hotels or 2) Limited EP, once per ride per day. Prices vary.

All on-site resorts (deluxe and non-deluxe) get the Early Entry perk.

The 3 deluxe resorts (Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofino Bay) as well as the non-deluxe Saphire Falls have water taxis to take you to the park (of course you could walk if you want). Cabana Bay is the only on-site resort that does not have a water taxi. As Macraven said, you can walk or take the bus service, though.

HRH is our UO "home". Beautiful resort, very short walk to the parks!
