Newbie-needing advice on best hotel deals

Hi! I would like to plan a trip to US/IOA for Aug.1-5. The best deal I can find for an onsite hotel is $219 a night at RPR and that includes tickets to the parks, citywalk, etc. Any advice on how to get a better rate?

how many tickets? are they length of stay? It may not be a bad deal a 5 day ticket is 94/person....hmmm, I'm not sure.

If you have AAA you can get a discount or an entertainment book will get you a nice rate if they are available

Hi Jane,, we are going the same days. The best rate I found for those days is with the annual passholder discount, at the Portofino for standard view, $188.00. The annual pass is $169.00 and there is a deal to get a second year free, with the burger king code. The offer ends at the end of May tho, and will automatically activate on June 31. It is a great savings, especially if you think you will return within two years time.

You can order it at http://www.entertainment.com/ and the books are only $9.99 right now! The website seems awfully slow tonight so hopefully it isn't going down.

I also got the Entertainment rate for $119 but it was for 8/29 to 9/1, the rates increase on 9/1 to 9/5 because they consider them the weekend and its Labor Day weekend. I think you got a pretty good deal if your $219 includes the park tickets for every day. Your time period is considered peak season because of Labor Day so all prices are going to be high. I had originally planned on going at that time after spending the first 4 days at Disney but since I got the better deal at the beginning of the week at RPR I switched, now we are going to RPR and then to Disney (where I got a great rate through AAA for $61.60 at AllStars Movies). HTH
