newbie --ME VS rental car question

Okay, we are renting a car the day before we leave to do a beach day. Should we just pay a bit extra and use it to take us to the airport the next day or just take the bus through the resort back ? I don't know which would have more benefits. Thanks

Advantages and disadvantages.

If you drive yourself, you can leave when you like and get there when you like, on your schedule.

If you take DME, they do the driving, all you have to do is get on the bus that gets you to the airport in time, and your luggage is already checked at your resort.

Flexibiltiy --- Drive yourself

Relaxation --- Leave the driving to them, and no car to check in and luggage checked at your resort

That is good to know. I was wondering if it was like ME where you have to ride the bus to have your luggage taken. So, I could leave our luggage and take our car since I am flying with Delta a "particiapating airline"? That might be really nice. Thanks

Hi all:

In August I used ME to return to the airport, packed bus over an hour on the bus before even leaving Disney property, would have prefered private car. It was one of the worst trips I have ever had using ME. Although the trip in wasn't much better, first on, last off! But didn't take nearly as long as the return to the airport.

In May we used "Express Check In" we were flying a "participating airline" it was so easy, checked bags when we checked out and got our private transportation back to the airport.

We did this the last time we went. We had a rental car but we went down early the morning of check out with our luggage and they checked the luggage and gave us our boarding passes. It was great!

When your vacation is over, if you are flying a "participating airline" you can check your bags with Resort Airline Check-in whether or not you are going to ride the DME bus back to the airport.
