Hi all,

I think the Transportation board is a good place for this question. I got my ME tags in the mail yesterday. :cool1: This may be a dumb question, but this is our first time to WDW and using ME. Do the tags need ALL our flight info, or just the last leg (flight) for arrival, and first leg for departure? We have a long way to go, and always have two flights to get there. ME has only our last flight (for arrival) and first flight (for departure). That's all they need, right? :confused3

All they really need is what time you get into MCO and what time you are leaving MCO.

This is mainly for planning .

The Departing flight is so they can give you a time to get back to the airport and make that flight (from 2h45 min-3h is the norm for resort pick-up)

That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I'm sure the airline will manage to lose my luggage either way, though! :rotfl2:

The yellow tags you stick on your baggage need only have the unaltered bar code, your name (corrected by hand if needed) and the resort name (corrected by hand if needed). Be sure to bring the matching stubs with you.

Before going home, remove the yellow tags, they are no longer needed or used.

You should have the return home bus time in writing, either written on your ME tag stubs or booklet, or on a separate sheet of paper typically delivered to your room the day before. Also you should have vouchers for each person, which may be part of the ME package book you got in the mail before you left home, with a validation stamp or notation made by a CM after arrival in Orlando.

Figure it this way: They won't lose ALL your luggage, and anything that doesn't make it to Orlando is probably just misdirected, not completely lost. As a hedge, don't pack each person's stuff in entirely separate bags. Put a change of clothes in your spouse's bag; pack an outfit for one of your kids in your bag; etc.

Also, another perk of DME: When you check in at the Welcome Center, they scan your voucher and ask how many bags you checked. If that number is higher than what comes off your flight, Magical Express starts the tracking process. YOU don't have to wait in line at the Lost Luggage office, jockeying for position and attention against the other eleven passengers whose bags didn't make the plane.
