Okay, I figure we might need this here.

I just went through the sticky threads, and really, I'm not sure they were 100% helpful.

Are there other newbies out there that need some beginning helps?

How exactly does one start? For instance, we either download or right-click to save the images to our computer. That would be the first step, obviously.

Then, what do most of you do? 2nd step? If one of the DDAs has customized your transfer/design for you, can you just print it or do you need to resize it?

I'm reading that most t-shirt transfers need to be big at about 300 dpi. Is that correct? ...and how are most of you resizing? Just click and dragging it in your photo editing software?

...and what if you just download a blank template? Do you guys separate it into layers and then start adding to it?

I guess it would be nice if we had a step-by-step tutorial on here maybe as a sticky to walk everyone thru as newbies.

Can anyone start us off, spelling off the steps in detail one-by-one?

I agree . I really could use this infomation too. Thank you to anyone who could give us step by step directions.,especially making the disign bigger.

Yeah, that's what I wrote in my first post.

I read thru a few of them, and I didn't see any step-by-step instructions.

I really think we need a learning curve thread on there, similar to what the photography board has, that will walk us through creating our own images and editing the blank templates all the DDA provide.

I have both PS and MS' Digital Image, and I will say that, for me at least, DI is far easier to work with.

I'll go back thru the links you posted, but it would be nicer if we just had a basic, plain step-by-step thread. JMHO.

Sorry -you are right, that is what you said in your post. I read it quickly. I could do one for Photo Impact. I will be on vacation for two weeks. I will see if I have time to work on it then.:goodvibes

That's okay. I went back and looked at your links to make sure I had not overlooked anything! :thumbsup2

I have been PM'ing a little bit tonight with one of the DISigners, and she walked me through how to do a name on one of them--well, not just HOW to do a name, but how she got the effects on the name.

It was very simple, and it literally opened a whole new world up to my mind!

She is using the same software I have, and honestly, I had no idea my software was capable of so much, and I'm sure what she walked me thru was only the tip of that software's iceberg!

It would be really great if we could post lessons (like she just helped me through), and maybe the mods could sticky them.

That way, any time you needed to add a name or a caption or really anything to one of the designers' templates, the directions would be right there.

It really was very simple. Now, I just have to work on printing out a test, making sure it's the right size for my shirt, and doing the actual ironing on (the really scary part)!

I'm going a retreat this weekend for work, but if anyone is interested, I can post the walk-through she gave me tonight. I wouldn't mind doing that.

I would love any info you or anyone else can share...I would love to do this on my own but I am such a newbie...

I'm working on more, and will post as I complete them. You may just want to keep checking my 4shared site. :goodvibes

Penny,

It's good to see another PI user on the boards. I don't DISign, but use PI for other designing. I'm ordering the PI 13 upgrade today - my birthday present to myself! :woohoo: :dance3:

Enjoy! Susan
