Hey everyone,
Let me start off by saying that you are all very amusing in your posts! :rotfl2:

So...I have always wanted to scrap but always got intimidated when I went to the store and saw the sheer volume of the amount of supplies available and then subsequently left the store empty handed. BUT when I booked a Disney Cruise for May, I vowed to get past the intimidation and start scrapping because I would love to scrap my trip.

Well, so far so good, I decided to start small and scrap my college graduation and party and that is going OKAy, I'm finding that it is difficult to make the pages pretty but not too busy.

Any suggestions for my disney scrapbook....I figure you should all know...

thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome!!! You will get lots of ideas here, so ENJOY!

Welcome and glad you found us. I suggest you start simple. All you need to start is a book (archival quality), acid free adhesive and some acid free paper. Once you get the hand of matting and figuring out color and balance, you can add embellishments to your pages - eyelets, fibers, sticker, etc... Make sure you journal.

There is tons of Disney stuff out there these days, but my advice is not to buy anything until you need it. I have more scrap crap than I know what to do with because I buy "because I MIGHT need it someday".

Have fun and if you have any questions, this is the place to come.

Welcome! A good way to start is to keep it simple...as you go along you'll figure out what sorts of things you like, don't like, etc. And as you read the posts you'll find all sorts of opinions on what is "good" and "not good"... :rotfl: we are not going down that road for this poor newbie! :goodvibes As you've discovered if you've been lurking around we're a pretty opinionated bunch.

I always ask myself...what am I trying to do with this layout? Show the whole event...if so I might end up with many many pages, if not a whole book on something like a trip. Am I trying to simply commemorate a moment in time? A different approach.

Probably the hardest thing for me when I started was choosing which pictures to scrap and which to toss. Yes, when I have finished an event I now do toss the extras or pass them to friends if they are of events our kids are in, etc. Just yesterday I was asking myself WHY do I still have a pocket album of photos from a Disney trip that I didn't scrap...one of these days I will need to go back through that set and see if there is something I absolutely can't lose (probably not or it would already be in the scrapped book) or if those extras should be tossed.

Deb

Welcome... I'm a newbie too, and I love scrapping!!! You'll love it!!! :Pinkbounc
