hi everyone

newbie here so this might be a stupid question. but how do you make dining reservations? i am assuming that that is what ADR is (advanced dining reservations)

thanks
amy

ps- travelling with my 15 month old daughter and 3 year old daughter. any recommendations for dining?

welcome to the DIS, Amy.

There are several ways you can make ADRs

by phone 1-407-WDW-DINE

at the concierge desk at any Disney Resort

at guest services at any of the parks

at the check-in podium of any Disney restaurant

You call 1-407-WDW-DINE. If you want to eat in the castle (and good luck getting a reservation there!) or go to a dinner show, you have to pay when you make the reservation.

ADR stands for Advanced Dining Reservation, but unless it is one of the places where you pre-pay, you aren't actually getting a reservation. What you get is a shorter wait than someone who just walked up and asked to be seated (if the place is busy.) You also get the knowledge that you'll get to sit down in the place you want. Things like the Crystal Palace breakfast tend to fill up, and if they're full, they're full. Walk-ups might get turned away or told it is a 2-3 hour wait.

Make all the ADRs you want. Unless it is a pre-paid deal, there isn't a charge for cancelling / changing.

Hi ado121! The menus for WDW restaurants are right here on the DIS, as well as all the info you'll need to make your plans. Here is the link to the menus:

If you have specific questions about any of the restaurants, please let us know.

ado121, my Rule of Thumb is to make an ADR for anywhere I really want to eat, whether it is a character meal or just a restaurant I want to eat at.
You can now make an ADR 180 days in advance. With the Dining Plan now in effect, TS (Table Service) restaurants have been much busier.
As others have said, you can change/cancel an ADR if you change your mind.
For me, half the fun is in the planning, and that includes where we will eat.
Have Fun!
