I just registered this morning but I have been lurking for a few days. I have so many questions! I have never been to DW - heck I have never been to FL!

We have 2 kids 5yo DD and 12yo DS. We really want to plan a trip while the oldest will still enjoy it with us old folks. We are considering August because they will not be in school until the last week. Kind of ending the summer with a bang! I am unsure of the weather and crowds though - how many days we should stay (we are flying in) if we should rent a car, where should we stay and on and on and on.

Sorry folks! I didn't mean to ramble - I got all fired up! Anywho - HELLO everyone - I am looking forward to gleaning all I can from all of you. It is great to be here! :cheer2:

Welcome to the boards! :)
WDW is an amazing place and I am sure all of you will love it! August is a great time to go for families w/ children not wanting to miss school. It is a hot month and its crowded but usually the crowd being lower towards the end of the month. End of Aug/Sept a deal has been coming up in past years for free dining so thats always a plus... :) You dont need a car if you plan on staying on property (which I recommend) but if you want to travel around Fl, then renting a car is great but again not needed for a disney stay. Disney Hotels are wonderful & there is one for each and every budget. Value resorts are Pop & Allstar Resorts..
These boards will help you out alot. Everyone has an opinion on what works best for them and you can find out what works best for you... so just ask away! Planning a trip to WDW is wonderful but could be alot of work for some people, so dont let it get u down, imo: its the best vacation in the world! :)

Welcome Ohiomomof2! You came to the right place for information. You'll learn a lot just browsing through the threads, but if you have a specific question, just ask! We just love sharing in the fun! :grouphug:

:rainbow: Welcome Read all you can on these boards. I know I have learned a lot. Like it was said earlier everyone will have different opinions about certain things but you have to take what works for you and your family. About going in Aug. for me the heat and humidity would be too much. Here is a link on historical weather for that time of year. http://www.wunderground.com/history...istory.html?dayend=25&monthend=8&yearend=1972 But then again I am a wimpy Californian that doesn't do well with humidity. Can you go in March or April?

:wave2: Hi back to you. As others said, tghis is the place to be. There are a lot of forums to go to for help and answers. Just ask away. Lots of opinions are found here.
